Replacing the coolant with a VAZ 2114-2115

Coolant - antifreeze or antifreeze, must be changed regularly, since even they have their own specific resource. For example, many operating instructions say that this procedure must be performed at least once every 60 km, or at least every two years. On VAZ 000-2114 cars, this procedure is not difficult, since nothing interferes with a conventional 2115-valve engine and there is free access to everything.

As for the tool that you need for this operation, a more detailed list of everything you need will be given below:

It should be borne in mind that before carrying out a replacement, you should not warm up the engine, as you can get burned in this case when draining antifreeze or antifreeze from the cooling system. So let's get down to business. First, you need to unscrew the expansion tank cap so that later the drain occurs faster.

Then you need to unscrew the plug or tap of the cooling radiator, which is located on the lower right side. In my case, there was a small fitting on the faucet, so that it was possible to put a hose on it and bring the whole thing into a canister so that nothing could be spilled on the ground when draining:

When the antifreeze or antifreeze will drain into the container, you can at the same time unscrew the plug from the cylinder block, also substituting the container:

When all the coolant is glass from the system, you can flush the radiator and the block with open plugs and a tap, pouring warm water into the expander. Usually, if the system is dirty, the water will flow out cloudy or even very dirty. It is necessary to rinse until the water is clear at the outlet. Then you can wrap all the plugs in place, and pour a new antifreeze or antifreeze through the expansion tank with a thin stream to the maximum mark in the tank.

When all this has been done, you can tighten the expander plug on the VAZ 2114-2115 and start the engine. It is necessary to let it run until the radiator cooling fan works. After stopping its operation, you can turn off the engine, and when the engine has completely cooled down, check the coolant level again and, if necessary, add the required amount.
