Replacing the bearing of the front and rear hub on Renault Logan

You should not undertake to replace the wheel bearing with Renault Logan I and II generations if there is no special tool or experience in car repair, as improper installation of a new spare part can damage the inner surface of the steering knuckle or brake drum.

The characteristic noise from the ailerons at high speed, knocking, steering play when the steering wheel is rocked left-right, up and down are clear signs of wear on the front or rear wheel bearing on Renault Logan I and II. This article will tell you how to choose a replacement part and install it yourself.

Replacing the bearing of the front and rear hub on Renault Logan

Front hub

The Renault Logan front suspension of the first and second generation uses double-row ball bearings. There are two types: for cars equipped with anti-lock brakes and without it. In the first case, the magnetic poles are located on one side of the bearing. As the wheel rotates through them and the adjusting ring, the wheel speed sensor collects the information needed to operate the ABS.

Life time

Under normal operating conditions and with a closed hub nut with a protective cap, the service life of original spare parts is 100-110 thousand kilometers.

Codes of original spare parts

In the original spare parts catalog, wheel bearings are identified by the following numbers:

  • For vehicles with ABS:
Supplier codeNoteaverage price
6001547686Vehicles manufactured before March 2007.

Contains 44 magnetic poles.

3389
7701207677Vehicles manufactured after March 2007.

Contains 48 magnetic poles.

2191
  • For vehicles without ABS:
Supplier codeaverage price
60015476962319

The number of magnetic poles affects the accuracy of the readings collected by the anti-lock braking system while driving and, as a result, the operation of the engine and brake system.

Analogues

There are options for installing spare parts that are identical in resource to the original ones and at a lower price, SNR products:

  • For vehicles with ABS:
    • collected before March 2007 - 41371.R00;
    • collected after March 2007 - XGB.41140.R00.
  • For vehicles without ABS - GB.40706.R00.

The products of this company are installed on Renault Logan from the assembly line.
