Replacing the pallet gasket with a VAZ 2110-2111

If, after long-term parking, you find that a small oily spot has appeared under the front of your car, then most likely the oil has started to go through the sump gasket. This problem on VAZ 2110-2111 cars is extremely rare, but it is still worth talking about it, since this trouble still takes place, although not very often!

All this is done either in the pit, or by lifting the front of the car with a jack to such a level that you can crawl under the car and perform the required operation without much difficulty. And for the work itself, you only need a head for 10, a ratchet handle and an extension cord of at least 10 cm, it can be even longer.

So, when the machine is raised enough, then you can unscrew all the bolts that secure the pallet, which are more or less normally visible in the photo below:

It should be borne in mind that when unscrewing the last two bolts, you need to be extremely careful and hold the pallet with your second hand so that it does not fall on your head. As a result, we finally remove it from the engine block:

Now you can remove the old gasket, which is no longer subject to reinstallation and replace it with a new one.

Of course, it is advisable to wipe dry the surface of the sump cover, as well as the cylinder block, before installing, so that everything is clean enough and without unnecessary traces of oil. After completing the replacement, we install the pallet in the reverse order, tightening all the bolts of its fastening evenly.
