Replacing the heater radiator Kia Sorento

Replacing the Kia Sorento stove radiator is not a very quick and simple matter. You will need to turn half of the cabin over, meaning you will need to remove the panel. You can do it yourself, but you need to play well.

The process of measuring the radiator of the Kia Sorento stove is as follows:

1. Open the hood, drain the coolant through the tap on the radiator (merges, unlike other cars, almost everything). We disconnect the two tubes suitable for the stove, remove the metal plate and the rubber gasket from the heater tubes (unscrew the nut and fasten it).

2. We go inside the car. We remove the glove box: on the right side (with the glove box door open) there is a thread that allows you to smoothly open the lid, on the right wall we remove the plug, remove the thread. The glove compartment stopper on the left, bend the glove compartment so that the stopper comes out and remove the glove compartment.

3. Remove the tunnel, for this we lift the lid of the box from the back of the tunnel, take out the inside of the box, simply insert it into the latches, unscrew 2 screws.

4. We take out the ashtray from the back of the tunnel, under it is a self-tapping screw, unscrew it, remove the back panel of the tunnel with cup holders and a cigarette lighter, fasten it with clothespins.

5. There are 2 more self-tapping screws under the back panel of the tunnel.

6. In front of the tunnel, take out the plugs, unscrew the screws, remove the tunnel.

7. Remove decorative trims from the ends of the front panel (on latches), remove decorative trims with air duct deflectors on the sides of the front console (on latches).

8. Remove the steering wheel trim (three screws from the bottom) and one decorative trim on the driver's legs (three screws from the "torpedo" side, two from the bottom of the trim, from the top of the latch).

9. They also removed the lower part of the “torpedo” on the right, which is around the glove compartment. Behind the wheel, remove the plugs, unscrew the driver's airbag, remove the steering wheel.

10. Unscrew 2 screws on the instrument panel trim, remove it, remove the instrument panel. We unscrew the steering shaft (2 bolts, 2 nuts), lower it to the floor, do not unscrew the crossbars, let it lie on the floor. We unscrew everything on the front console (all screws are visible).

The connectors are all different, it is impossible to confuse during assembly. We unscrew the entire "torpedo" around the perimeter (the air ducts at the ends do not need to be unscrewed, they are removed together with the "torpedo"), unscrew the passenger airbag and additional fasteners next to it, unscrew the nut under the radio and under the instrument panel.

We remove the lining of the front pillars (from above, under the roof, bolts under the plugs, under the latch).

11. We remove the “torpedo”, and here we need another pair of hands (also during installation), it is large and heavy, plus the fixing ebb (highlighted in red) on the “torpedo” amplifier also interferes a lot. Raise the back of the "torpedo" so that the air ducts go above the return line and away from the windshield.

Under the windshield, the "torpedo" is mounted on latches.

12. "Torpedo" liquidated - Hooray. We disconnect all harnesses, fuse boxes and relays from the “torpedo” amplifier.

13. We remove the “torpedo” amplifier and the air duct at the feet of the rear passengers (fixed with 6 plastic plugs).

14. We approach the stove. We unscrew the screws for fixing the stove, we also loosen the screws for fixing the cooler so that the cooler body moves a little. We disconnect the body of the stove from the body of the cooler (they are not attached to each other in any way, they are simply inserted into each other).

You will have to twist a little (especially when you need to insert the casing back), this is not very convenient, but you should not release and then do not pump freon into the air conditioner.

15. The stove was taken out. To replace the radiator, it is not necessary to disassemble the entire stove, it is enough to remove the upper air duct by unscrewing three self-tapping screws from the stove body and remove the radiator.
