The Corsa compact car, which first rolled off the assembly line in 1982, became one of his best sellers, becoming not only Opel's best-selling car, but also the most popular compact car in Europe. Generation D, produced between 2006 and 2014, shared a platform with another successful compact class car, the Fiat Grande Punto, which pioneered third-party designs.
To some extent, this also affected the serviceability of the car - replacing the cabin filter yourself with an Opel Corsa D, you will notice that it is somewhat more difficult than for cars on the widespread GM Gamma platform, which was also used by the Corsa of the previous generation. However, you can do the work yourself.
How often do you need to replace?
In accordance with modern tradition, the replacement of the Opel Corsa D cabin filter must be carried out at each scheduled maintenance prescribed annually or at intervals of 15 km. However, this period is designed for "average" use of the car, so it often needs to be changed more often than it should.
The main source of pollution is road dust, and on unpaved roads the filter has to accept the largest volumes of dust. With such operation, a noticeable decrease in productivity can already be noted, a drop in the efficiency of the stove fan at the first or second speed by 6-7 thousand km.
In traffic jams, the filter works mainly on soot microparticles from exhaust gases. In this case, the replacement period comes even before the filter has time to become noticeably clogged; impregnated with a persistent smell of exhaust, significantly reduces the comfort of staying in a car. In the case of carbon filters, the absorbent media is also depleted before the curtain becomes contaminated.
We recommend that you plan to replace the cabin filter at the end of leaf fall: having collected pollen and aspen fluff over the summer, in the autumn the filter in a humid environment becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and mildew fungi that infect the leaves and get into the air duct will also become “food” for bacteria. If you remove it in late fall, your cabin filter and new filter will stay clean until next summer while still maintaining healthy cabin air.

The car was equipped with two filter options: paper with article number Opel 6808622/General Motors 55702456 or coal (Opel 1808012/General Motors 13345949).
If the first filter is quite inexpensive (350-400 rubles), then the second one costs more than one and a half thousand. Therefore, its analogues are much more popular, allowing for the same money to make up to three replacements.

Instructions for replacing the cabin filter on the Opel Corsa D
Before starting work, we need to empty the glove compartment to remove it and prepare a Torx 20 screwdriver for self-tapping screws.
First, two self-tapping screws are unscrewed under the upper edge of the glove box.
Two more secure its bottom.
Pulling the glove compartment towards you, remove the ceiling light or disconnect the wiring connector.
Now you can see the cabin filter cover, but access to it is blocked by the air duct.
We take out the piston that secures the air duct to the fan housing; we take out the central part, after which the piston easily comes out of the hole.
Taking the air duct to the side, pry the cabin filter cover from below, remove the cover and remove the cabin filter.
The new filter will need to be twisted a little, as part of the fan housing will interfere with it.
For antibacterial treatment of the air conditioner evaporator, we need access from two sides: through the hole for installing the filter, and through the drain. First, we spray the composition through the drain, then, putting the drain pipe in place, we move to the other side.
