Replacing the vacuum brake booster on the Niva
If the vacuum brake booster on the Niva fails, the braking efficiency will noticeably decrease, since you will have to apply tremendous effort when pressing the brake pedal. If you decide to replace this device, then the first step is to remove the Niva master brake cylinder.
After this has been done, you will need the following tool to remove the vacuum and install a new one:
- Flat screwdriver
- Socket head 13
- Extension
- Ratchet handle
So, the first step is to disconnect the brake pedal from the booster. To do this, in the cabin, using a flat screwdriver, remove the lock washer, as shown in the photo:
And then we press on the stem with a screwdriver until it comes out from the back side:
After that, as you can see, the pedal is disconnected and you can go further:
Now, again, from the inside of the cabin, almost at the very beginning of the floor, it is necessary to unscrew 4 nuts, with which the Niva vacuum amplifier is attached to the body:
When all 4 nuts are unscrewed, the amplifier can be removed from the back side, since it is no longer attached to anything:
The price of a new vacuum for the Niva (21213, 21214) is about 1200 rubles. The replacement of this part is carried out in the reverse order.
