Charge your lithium-ion battery in minutes

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have found a way to recharge lithium-ion batteries in just a few seconds.

Herbrand Seder, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, and his student Byungwu Kang have managed to shorten the charging time of batteries (about 15 seconds), which are used in high-tech products such as mobile phones.

This will mean that a lithium-ion battery for an electric vehicle can be loaded in a few minutes in the future, that is, in just 2-3 years.

Seder's invention has already been patented.
