Factory Aprilia Dorsoduro 750

As is customary among the Italians from Noal, two years after the presentation of the "regular" Aprilie Dorsoduro 750 for this season, they presented an even sportier version with the name Factory.

First, a few words about Dorsodur without the adjective Factory. This is a supermoto version based on the Shiver 750. This is something special because compared to the competition we cannot firmly place it anywhere.

It is a two-cylinder, but not a liter engine, it is light but does not look like a single-cylinder, and it is true that it successfully combines both extreme worlds of supermoto motorcycles with a volume of 1.000 or 600 cubic feet.

In this performance, which is fully revealed in the name, they took another step towards sportiness. If you managed to drive a kilometer in a regular Aprilia Dorsodura or Shiver, and it was already too sporty for you, then the Factory is not for you.

This is a motorcycle that is more than a collectible variety, and the owner knows exactly what he wants from the goodies that have been sprinkled on the cake like sweet candy.

And at first glance, the entire Factory package looks extremely selective and delicious. Instead of everyday plastic, they were generously served with carbon fiber. This noble material looks even more attractive in a matte black version and is exactly the same as the "carbon" on the RSV4 Biaggi, with whom he leads the Superbike World Championship.

Yes, they even make it in the same factory! Thus, the noble matt black replaced the plastic on the front fender, both side fuel tanks and on the lock body - mmmm, delicious!

So they saved a bit in weight, which is also two kilograms less. Otherwise, there is no difference in driving when comparing the Factory to the regular Dorsodur, but at least it sounds good.

What was more important for us while driving and what was also very felt is hidden in front. Brakes! How good they are! The Brembo radial kit with four-bar caliper and a pair of daisy brake discs is a product that will put a smile on your face when driving fast on a dynamically twisty road or even on a race track.

The feel when metering brake power with one or two fingers (depending on how sporty you drive) is precise and takes complex handling into account. The front suspension is good, also sporty adjustable, but with such excellent braking, it barely fits into the package.

Fortunately, everything works smoothly enough that the bike switches to controlled glide during braking at the driver's request and delivers XNUMX% of the pleasure.

Where there are bends, there is also fun, one might say in this case. The Dorsoduro will impress anyone who loves to dynamically take turns in a relaxed and relentlessly straight supermoto. This way, the long ride will not be tiring, and besides, the passenger sits much better than, say, a supersport bike.

The platform, which already works well on the ground in the regular Aprilia Dorsoduro, is even better here, as the fully adjustable rear suspension keeps the tires in good contact with the asphalt.

Since the bike is clearly designed to withstand short and, above all, long corners, it is calm enough even at 200 km / h that the ride does not cause discomfort. To get an excellent score, we would like to feel a little better on very short 90 or 180 degree corners.

Here the front is slightly less accurate than when “cutting” at higher speeds.

While the Dorsoduro factory with all the carbon looks like a black pearl, there are a few more things on our wishlist. First, we would choose a sports exhaust system and a shorter secondary drivetrain from a fairly extensive range of accessories, which would otherwise reduce top speed slightly but would undoubtedly significantly improve engine performance.

Despite the 92 horsepower, we missed out on a lot of liveliness in first, second and third gears so that we could play with the rear wheel without any problems, and above all, we got the feeling that the bike literally knocks you off the track. injection. to the next turn.

The frame, suspension and especially the brakes all do it, and it would be a shame not to use it. For an even more polished look, consider sports rider pedals with sharper teeth made of aluminum, and for travel, side bags that, at least from the photos, look great on the bike.

Even a larger fuel tank per liter would be useful, but so far they do not offer this option.

We also liked the choice between three different curves or engine characteristics: sport (for sporty cornering), rain (for wet roads) and the touring program, which sits somewhere in between and is best suited for two-person rides.

The good side of this Aprilie Dorsoduro is that, despite the sporty note, it still has a fair amount of refinement so that it can also be a touring bike that's conditional (mainly due to its smaller fuel tank and almost no wind protection) can be placed next to even touring enduro motorcycles.

Finally, a quick price comparison: an extra € 750 must be deducted for such a factory package, and if you had to choose between the two, you'd rather tighten the belt a bit and treat yourself to carbon fiber and great brakes. ...
