What is liquid auto rubber?
Liquid rubber, or more correctly, seamless sprayed waterproofing, is, in fact, a two-component mastic, a polymer-bitumen water emulsion. It is produced on special equipment in the factory.
- The heated mixture of bitumen and water is passed through colloid mills, as a result of which the bitumen droplets are crushed into particles a few microns in size.
- This is followed by a modification stage, as a result of which the mixture is enriched with polymers and acquires the properties of a modifier latex.
Its main advantage is the ability to adhere to almost any surface, and it does not flow even from vertical surfaces at high temperatures.
Such rubber does not lose its properties at temperatures from minus 55 to plus 90 degrees. It is also important to note that adhesion to the material occurs at the molecular level. With all this, it is easily removed, does not lend itself to ultraviolet radiation, and has high wear resistance.
At the same time this material is absolutely harmless, does not possess toxicity, does not contain solvents. It is used not only for application to cars, but also in construction.
Liquid rubber is not afraid of contact with water and other aggressive substances, such as gasoline, brake fluid, engine oils or detergents. It will protect the body of your car from corrosion and minor damage. If, over time, any flaws appear, then it is enough just to apply a new layer of rubber to the damaged area.
Over time, the layer of liquid rubber becomes more solid, paint and varnish coatings can be applied on top of it.
Initially, liquid rubber was produced only in black, but with the help of various additives, its color can be easily changed and you can easily order any color - black, gray, green, yellow.
Well, the main advantage for motorists is that liquid rubber costs less than vinyl films, and it is much easier to work with it, because it can be applied with a spray can or spray gun on any complex surfaces - rims, nameplates, fenders, bumpers, and so on. .
It is also used for application, for example, on interior elements - front dashboard, doors. When hardened, the rubber becomes pleasant to the touch and no smell comes from it.

How to apply liquid rubber?
Application consists of several stages:
- surface preparation - completely wash the surface, removing all dust and dirt, and then dry thoroughly;
- preparation of mastic - it must be thoroughly mixed, following the instructions, there are also special concentrates that need to be mixed in a certain proportion with water;
- application - applied in several layers.
If the color of the rubber corresponds to the "native" color, then 3-5 layers are enough mastics of the same color. If you want to completely change the color, then you need transitional lighter or darker tones, on top of which the main color is applied. Applying, for example, red on black without a substrate - transitional tones - is undesirable, since it will not be possible to obtain a saturated color.
If you get tired of the color over time, it can be removed like an ordinary film.
