In 1955, Chrysler shocked the American automotive world with the introduction of the C-300, which was much more powerful than the Chevrolet Corvette or Ford Thunderbird. Both competing cars had from 200 to 225 hp. depending on the modification, while the S-300 has more than 300 hp. Chrysler, thanks to the use of the NASCAR engine, was extremely fast, and to emphasize its power, it was decided to try to break the record at a distance of one mile, reaching a speed of 205 km / h (from the start from the flight).

This large car, equipped with a 2-speed automatic, was able to accelerate to 100 km / h in just over 10 seconds.

Chrysler C-300 was produced only in 1955. During the year of presence in car dealerships, 1725 cars were sold. Production was small, but the car was built for acclaim and prestige. It can be considered one of the first representatives of muscle cars.

The following year, a new model was put into production, without the letter C in the name, but with an even more powerful engine. Each year, Chrysler released a new, more powerful model that was rare, with no more than a few thousand units sold.
