BMW F 650 CS Scarver

It was immediately interesting. It's a bit strange. What about that hole in the tank? Where does the gasoline go? What about that weird rear wheel gear? What is this drive? It works? Should you lubricate it? They also gave me a backpack with keys. Is it a gift or with a motorcycle? Scarver F650 CS aroused a lot of interest, amazement and incredible looks from the first day. I admit it. I also doubted when I first rode it. How will the timing belt drive work?

Otherwise, he is a good friend in a new guise. The F 650 CS is the successor to the well-selling and well-known on Slovenian roads model F 650, which was first introduced in 1993. With the F 650 GS, Scarver shares the drivetrain, the ABS braking system and all accessories.

It will offer the driver almost every possible comfort one can imagine on a motorcycle of this class today. The heated grips on the steering wheel are no longer a problem. The engine lubricating oil is stored in the frame of the motorcycle, and the control window is somewhere under the steering wheel.

Have you seen the hole?

Where the fuel tank usually stands, there is a kind of recess with handles. Despite its unusual appearance, this "pit" has proven to be extremely useful for storing small items. When preparing for a ride, by which I mean putting on gloves, buttoning up a jacket and the like, I usually put my things on the motorcycle seat, and it often happens that this or that piece of equipment slipped and fell to the ground.

Of course, these are always the most sensitive and fragile items of equipment, such as glasses, a phone or even a helmet. An unusual luggage space on this little bike has been booked. One variation on the latter, which has already been developed by BMW, is the storage and fixation of the helmet. You can buy a special rubber lock that will make sure that the helmet does not fall on someone else's head so easily.

If you don't like any of the factory options offered by this luggage compartment, it will definitely come in handy when collecting rainwater for flowers if you leave your motorcycle out in the rain.

Real acrobat

Although at first glance and first impression it may seem a bit large and a bit unwieldy due to the large fixed anchor blocking the front wheel's view, the F650 CS proved to be extremely agile and agile in city driving. He does not hesitate in front of a high curb and can almost compete around the city with motorized virtuosos and acrobats of the city express. Since the handlebars of a motorcycle are the widest part of the handlebars, it is easy to overestimate in traffic whether a motorcycle can squeeze between cars at an intersection.

On the road, the F 650 CS is a real pleasure. Comfortable and soft due to the timing belt drive, gentle braking due to the addition of ABS and driving errors are no longer a big sin. These 32 kW are quite satisfactory and sharp enough for a pleasant trip to Jezersko.

Although the bike is not designed for cross-country or off-road riding, since the very name F 650 C (ity) S (wood) hides its purpose, it still cannot completely hide its enduro roots. Driving on ruined roads littered with potholes in the asphalt is a light snack for him, and I happily avoided the main roads and happily turned onto something more remote, more twisty and potholed.

Of course, no one is perfect, and that's why even with a good F 650 CS nerves went. Finding "idle" at the intersection, when I wanted to rest, my hands did not go and did not go, it was easiest for me during a slow drive, when I was approaching the intersection.

Overall rating: The shape can be a little unusual, so it takes time for the eye to get used to it. Like many years ago with the KTM Duke. Driving performance is excellent. Since the engine and motorcycle controls are very harmonious and intuitive, riding is a pleasure even for a beginner.
