Dacia Spring Electric - impressions after the first drive. Already in Traficar in Warsaw [2D video, 360-degree video]

Thanks to the Polish branches of Renault and Dacia, I was one of the first in Poland to be invited to drive a Dacia Spring Electric. I only had 1 hour for everything - it's my fault - but I think that after this time I already know who this car is for. And I'm glad it was produced.

Dacia Spring Electric – mini-review after 1 hour in the car

Summation

(according to the old Polish custom, we start from the end)

The Dacia Spring Electric is the perfect vehicle for car sharing or food delivery. Bad acceleration in the city is not particularly a concern, cheap plastic makes it easier to clean and maintain. It could also be the perfect electric car for retirees who only commute to the lot, sometimes hauling something bigger or dirty (like a crate of potatoes). The car is simple, you can drive it very cheaply and quite comfortably for this segment. Most likely, it may not be the main electric car in the family..

The problem is that the price of a car for an electrician may be low, but Objectively not so cheap (from PLN 76). We don't expect Dacia Spring Electric to be able to electrify Polish roads for that amount, although it's pretty neat because the fact that money was saved on it shows up at every turn. The situation may change when the price of the car drops by 40-45 thousand zlotys - enough if this is an additional amount.

Our rating: 6/10 (minimum for an electrician 5).

advantages:

  • slightly prettier than in the photographs, it looks passable on the road,
  • large trunk for the class,
  • practical and cheap to use,
  • paving the way for the cheapest electricians, perhaps it will spark competition in the segment,
  • does not encourage breaking the rules.

Disadvantages:

  • too expensive,
  • savings are visible at every step,
  • there is very little space in the back seat,

Recommendation:

  • drive your car down Traficar before making a decision,
  • wait a year, it should be cheaper
  • do not get the idea that every electrician has to accelerate too much, otherwise you will be disappointed.

Will the editors of www.elektrowoz.pl buy this car as a service car?

I do not think so. The car will perform well in city traffic, but we are discouraged by the value for money. For about 10-15 thousand zlotys, you can buy a Skoda Citigo e iV (as indicated on the website) or a Renault Zoe ZE 2 3-40 years ago. Both cars offer greater driving comfort and a longer range. ...

Test: Dacia Spring Electric High Speed City Tour

segment: A,

price: from PLN 76,

battery capacity: 27,4 kWh,

drive: front,

power: 33 kW (45 PS), 22 kW (30 PS) in ECO mode,

loading capacity: 270 (290) liters,

competition: Skoda Citigo e iV (more lively, longer range), Renault Zoe ZE 40 R90 or Q90 from the aftermarket.

At the first contact, I noticed that the live car looks a little better than in the photographs. The black wheel arches ensure that the 14-inch rims no longer burn the eyes and the rest is passable. There were many different surprises: when I closed the door, the car swayed (read: light). When I wanted to leave I had to insert the key into the ignition, turn it and release the parking brake - just like in a combustion vehicle.

From the salon, the impression is that it is cheap. Actually: very cheap. At first glance, the design is fine, but when I looked at the levers, steering wheel mounts (note that there are plugs instead of buttons; this could be a piece of Business equipment), I felt it was supposed to be primarily a car-sharing vehicle. I understand, I accept. I warn you: if there is something important in the car now, 80-90 percent of it is not in Dacia Spring:

Interior again, this time 360 degrees. You can stop and look around. Have you noticed which car is on the right? 🙂

There is no room behind, for example... The fact that I did not fit in there (height 1,9 meters) is quite understandable in segment A. But even putting a child there would be problematic. Maybe it would be possible in a 2 + 1 family, where the wife would move the chair forward? Or, as humanity, do we have the ability to pull up our knees to bulge our skulls? (because I had a place above my head)

There were other surprises as well. The trunk in the back was pretty quiet, I could easily pack my luggage there for a small family for the weekend (270 liters on VDA, 290 liters on Dacia). A suitcase on wheels should also fit, well, two stubbornly will enter. There was no confusion in the front of the trunk, but overall it was empty:

Driving experience? This car has 33 kW (45 hp) and 19 seconds to 100 km / h, so don't expect miracles. Up to 50 km / h, pressing the accelerator pedal to the floor causes some is accelerating. Of course, in the style of an electrician, without howling, with a slight whistle of the inverter and the growing noise in the cabin. In economy mode, it rides smoothly and normally. At speeds above 50 km / h, it rides beautifully and normally. Anyone switching from a diesel city car shouldn't feel the difference.

In general: to the city just in time, not a hindrance, I was not afraid that I was knocked down at a fast left turn. My wife likes it because she doesn't like it when the car rushes forward. I don't advise you to race, the Dacia Spring Electric will even go around a car with a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter internal combustion engine.

Suspense? Here it is. It is working. Suppresses. Tells the surface. I was a little nervous around corners and bumps, but no one normal would race on this. Moreover, Traficar only counts kilometers without worrying about travel time.

Reception? When I hit the road, I had 69 percent battery, a projected range of 132 kilometers, and a distance of 23 kilometers. Later, the forecast rose slightly and fell from a higher level, although I tested the machine's capabilities. After driving 20 kilometers (odometer = 43 km), I used 12 percent of the battery and had a forecast of 115 kilometers. Yes, I was driving around the city, but that day it was 3 degrees Celsius, and no one could honk me - a normal, ordinary trip to my destination.

It is easy to calculate that with a full battery I have to travel 160-170 kilometers, which gives a consumption of 16,4 kWh / 100 km (164,4 Wh / km). For the experiments I have done (dynamic driving, heating plus a low outside temperature), the result is very good. It should translate to Operating range 190-200 kilometers on a single charge... When it gets warmer, maybe even a little more. This is a good option for the WLTP, which promises 225-230 range units per battery.

I'm glad this car is on the market because we don't have enough cars, which is causing price pressure. There is a chance that this will change. That's all.

And here is the promised 360-degree recording (change perspective with mouse, be sure to turn on 4K):

Editor's note www.elektrowoz.pl: a longer trip record is compressed. When the compression is complete, I will attach the video to the text. I recommend that you drive yourself before making a purchasing decision.
