Throttle valve on Renault Logan
In order for the Renault Logan car to work stably, it is necessary to periodically carry out preventive maintenance. These mandatory measures include cleaning the throttle body. This is because this element in the engine is a kind of respiratory organ, into which, in place with air, bypassing the air filter, foreign substances can enter, for example, dust, which mixes with oil and settles in the system and affects performance, which leads to poor engine performance. Therefore, the Renault Logan accelerator must be cleaned of unwanted formations that have appeared.
Signs of contamination
- Accelerator pedal response blocked
- Uneven idling of the engine, the speed starts to float
- The car starts to jerk or stall
- Increased fuel consumption
To prevent the part from getting dirty so often, you need to monitor the condition of the air filter, the crankcase gas recirculation system, and also use high-quality engine oil. If the symptoms listed above appear, this element of the system must be removed and cleaned.
Removal and cleaning
The throttle is removed quite simply, for this:
- Remove the air filter
- Four bolts are unscrewed into the body
- Gas supply turned off
- Renault Logan throttle sensor is disabled, one is in front of the shock absorber, the other is behind
- The shock absorber is unscrewed and removed and the presence of various deposits is checked
- We remove the idle speed sensor and check its condition, if necessary, clean it, this can be done using a carburetor cleaner
- The valve is bent on the throttle and flushing is performed
- Wipe the seat with a damp cloth
The disassembly and cleaning process takes no more than an hour, but after this procedure, the engine starts to work much better, but if the problem persists after this procedure, it is recommended to replace the idle speed sensor.
Removing and replacing the sensor
The Renault Logan throttle position sensor may also fail, in which case it must be removed and replaced with a new one, for this:
- Remove the air filter
- When the ignition is turned on, the latch is pressed in the transmission unit of the engine management system and the sensor wires are disconnected
- A pair of self-tapping screws is unscrewed, this can be done with a Torx T-20 key
- Remove and install new part
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, the main thing is that at the time of installation the shock absorber is completely closed.
As you can see, the replacement procedure is not a laborious task, and all work can be done independently, the resource of the system itself is quite large, but in any case, Renault Logan checks the throttle valve and sensor for them every 60-100 thousand km, therefore it plays a rather important role in engine operation.
