The 2.7-liter ZMZ 409 engine has been produced at the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant since 2000 and is installed on numerous SUVs and minibuses manufactured under the UAZ brand. There are three modifications of this power unit for 112, 128 or 143 horsepower.
This series also includes internal combustion engines: 402, 405, 406 and PRO.

Disadvantages, breakdowns and problems of ZMZ 409
This engine often overheats due to thermostat failure or air locks.
Jamming of the hydraulic tensioner leads to a chain jump, but the valve does not bend
