Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

Which electric vehicle has the longest range? If you need more than 450 kilometers on a single charge, you have a choice: Tesla, Tesla or Tesla. Tesla and Tesla will also be available from used vehicles. And that's all about the set of options. Because if you don't want to buy Tesla, then ... wait.

If you want to see the rating as a list, there should be a table of contents next to ->. Expand it to navigate to the car you are interested in.

The rating below has been ranked according to the ranges determined by the American Environmental Protection Agency, which very well reflects real ranges of electric vehicles in mixed mode under normal driving conditions and good weather. In Europe, the WLTP procedure is used, which gives results on average 13 percent higher. Accounting for WLTP numbers makes sense if we move almost exclusively around the city.

We do not want to mislead our readers. Choosing ranges real.

The list includes all cars from around the world, existing and manufactured *although this is not particularly visible. Tesla removed the competition. The first car from a company other than Tesla could be the Hyundai Kona Electric and possibly the Kia e-Niro. But both cars did not reach the 450 km limit:

> Kia e-Niro with a real range of 430-450 kilometers, not 385, according to the EPA? [we collect data]

Also note that cars made in China are NEDC mileage.which significantly distorts the results. For example, the Nio ES6, having reached "510 km", will actually cover about 367 km on a single charge [preliminary calculations www.elektrowoz.pl based on the current version of the procedure]. Therefore, it is worth slowing down with excitement that "in China, cars have been driving 500 km on batteries for a long time."

*) So there is no Tesla Model Y or Rivian here, not to mention the incredible promises from Audi, but there are cars that leave the factories before 2019.

Despite the battery capacity of 6 kWh, the Nio ES84 does not even reach 400 kilometers of real range. At least this is what we get based on the manufacturer's declaration (c) Nio

What about the range of an electric vehicle on the highway or in cold weather?

It's simple. If you want to calculate Tesla's range at highway speed (~140 km/h), multiply the result by 0,75. On the other hand, if you are interested in the range of low and very low temperatures, multiply it by 0,8. WARNING, these multipliers only apply to Tesla vehicles and should not be used with models from other manufacturers - they are usually worse.

Here is our rating:

11 place. Tesla Model S 90D AWD (2016-2017), ~ 82 kWh – 473 km.

Segment: E

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

We promised a TOP10 rating, where did the car at number 11 come from? Well, we wanted to show you one of the cars from the older pool, which is only available in the aftermarket. This makes it a tidbit for people who don't want to buy a new Tesla. Tesla Model S 90D officially covers 473 kilometers without recharging.

After a little degradation, the battery will probably be about 460-470 kilometers. And if we're lucky, we get a model with free charging assigned to the car, not the owner.

10. Tesla Model X 100D (2017-2019), ~ 100 kWh – 475 km

Segment: E-SUV

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

Tesla Model X is a large crossover (SUV) that can carry up to 7 people. In the 2019D variant, released before April 100 - battery ~ 100 kWh, drive on both axles - covered 475 kilometers on a single charge. Even with good highway driving, it was about 350-380 kilometers on a single charge, which was enough to drive long distances without stopping.

But the new generation of Tesla, the Raven, powered by Tesla Model 3 engines, is much better.

9. Tesla Model X (2019) Long Range AWD Performance 100 kWh – 491 km.

Segment: E-SUV

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

Exactly. From the end of April 2019, a new generation of Tesla Model X called Raven will roll off production lines. Although it has not changed on the outside, its name has been changed: Tesla Model X [P] 100D turned into Tesla Model X Long Range AWD [Performance]... The chassis was also redesigned, replacing the induction motor with a new suspension and a permanent magnet motor at the front.

> Updated Tesla Model S (2019) and Model X (2019). New wheels and almost 600 km of run in the Tesla S! [List of changes]

Effect? Even in the energy-hungry Performance variant, which is the equivalent of the Model X P100D, the range is longer - 491 kilometers. In a non-working version, we can easily overcome 500 kilometers.

8. Tesla Model 3 (2019) Long Range AWD Performance ~ 74 kWh – 480-499 km.

Segment: D

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

The Tesla Model 3 was supposed to be the cheapest Tesla in the lineup. In turn, the Tesla Model 3 Performance is the most expensive of the cheapest Teslas. Big wheels, big brakes, more powerful engines - that's the kind of prank car for owners of a Porsche, BMW M or Audi RS. When we want to go crazy, the Tesla Model 3 Performance hits 100 mph in just 3,4 seconds.

And when we go with the children to our grandparents, we will benefit more from the range, which will be 480-499 kilometers.

7. Tesla Model 3 (2019) Long Range AWD ~ 74 kWh – 499 km

Segment: E

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

The Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD (right) is currently the most popular Model 3 variant in Europe. At a reasonable price, it offers excellent parameters (acceleration from 100 to 4,6 km / h in 233 seconds, top speed XNUMX km / h), which make it easy to cope with most of the competition. Also diesel.

The car ranks third on our Covet list today, but it actually ranks second behind the Kia e-Niro, and when you consider affordability ... well, we admit: our leader... Because these 499 kilometers of mileage with slow driving and approx. 400 km at 120 km / h not on foot.

6. Tesla Model S P100D AWD (2019) 100 kWh - 507 km

Segment: E

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

The Tesla Model S P100D is an upgraded version of the Tesla Model S 100D that has been replaced by the Long Range AWD Performance. It has long offered high power and a range of over 500 km on a single charge. But it is also worth the money. Who at the traffic lights did not have to prove at all that he was faster, or rather chose the 100D option.

And who put on the P100D. After all, it still has a range of 507 kilometers. Of course, provided that he proved everything to everyone on the previous charge. Because if he hasn’t proved it, then ... well, he has to drive from 250 kilometers on one charge 🙂

4. Tesla Model X (2019) Long Range AWD 100 kWh – 523 km

Segment: E-SUV

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

Actually, there is nothing to comment on here. The people who chose the Tesla Model X over the Model S - because they have a big family, because they like SUVs, because they can afford them, because ... - after all, they can feel really safe when it comes to regarding flight distance. one time charge. The latest Tesla Model X “Raven” on battery will travel 523 kilometers. That is on the Warsaw-Mielno route, if we decide to take a shortcut through Lowicz, "cutting" the corner of the A2-A1 motorway.

Of course, it would also be nice to quietly leave or ... stop somewhere in the toilet and quickly recharge, even for a few kilowatt-hours 😉

4. Tesla Model 3 (2019) Long Range RWD ~ 74 kWh – 523 km

Segment: D

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

Here is the electric car of our dreams. We do not need a drive on both axles, we prefer a larger range. The Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD - and therefore rear-wheel drive only - should go up to 523 kilometers on battery power after a recent software update. Yes, of course, this applies to slow driving. One short stop will be needed for a less leisurely ride. How short? Our eye needs 10-15 minutes:

3. Tesla Model S 100D (2017-2019) 100 kWh – 539 km

Segment: E

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

The Tesla Model S 100D is the predecessor to the current Long Range AWD with the Raven upgrade. Although it only had induction motors, it was able to travel 500 kilometers without recharging while driving slowly. And some Italians managed to drive as much as 1 km on a battery, although the ride was rather slow than with the usual one (078 km / h ...):

2. Tesla Model S (2019) Long Range AWD Performance 100 kWh – 555 km

Segment: E

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

The Tesla Model S Long Range AWD Performance is a more powerful variant of our leader (see below). The front is the same engine as in the Tesla Model 3, and the rear is the drive, allowing you to accelerate to 100 km / h in about 2,6-2,7 seconds. Thanks to him, she is described The Tesla Model S is by far the world's best accelerated production car..

In addition, without recharging, it covers 555 kilometers.

1. Tesla Model S (2019) Long Range AWD 100 kWh – 595,5 km

Segment: E

Electric vehicles with the longest range in 2019 - TOP10 rating

And here is the absolute leader of the ranking. The Tesla Model S “Raven”, which has been in production since the end of April, thanks to the Tesla Model 3 engines on the front axle, can travel almost 600 kilometers on a single charge. Even with decent highway driving, this will be a good 400+ kilometers, which is enough distance to cover the holiday distance in one jump without stopping at the charging station.

How much is such a pleasure? Most of the car prices we describe can be found in the article:
