Hybrid cars: models - specifications, photos and prices

Hybrid vehicles are very popular in the US and Europe. In Russia, they are also in certain demand. We have already mentioned the most common models on our website Vodi.su in an article about hybrid cars in Russia. At the moment, this is quite an expensive pleasure:

Toyota Prius - 1,5-2 million rubles;
Lexus (that this is a hybrid is indicated by the letter “h” in the designation of the NX 300h or GS 450h model) - prices start from two million and above;
Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid - up to six million;
BMW i8 — 9,5 million rubles!!!

There are several more hybrids presented in Russia, the prices for which are quite high. This is due to the need to install high-capacity batteries. In addition, in the event of a battery failure, it will be too expensive to repair or replace it. That is why this type of car is not yet as widespread in the Russian Federation as in European countries.

Abroad, if you go to any car dealership or its website, you will find both ordinary gasoline and diesel options, and their hybrid counterparts. Let's see which of them are the most popular for 2015.

Popular hybrid car models

Volkswagen

The German auto giant currently offers European customers two hybrid models:

The XL1 Plug-in-Hybrid is a rather original model that consumes only 0,9 liters of gasoline on the combined cycle;
The Golf GTE is a famous hatchback with an updated look, in the combined cycle it requires only 1,7-1,9 liters of fuel.

e-Golf.

The Golf GTE was first introduced to the public in February 2014. In appearance, it is absolutely the same as its gasoline counterpart. It is worth noting that the interior space did not suffer at all due to the placement of batteries under the rear seats. On a full battery charge and with a full tank, the hybrid Golf can travel a total of almost 1000 kilometers.

Prices are quite high - from 39 thousand euros. But in many European countries there is a system of grants and the state is ready to reimburse 15-25 percent of the cost to the buyer.

American Hyundai dealers advertise the new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, which is currently available at a price of 29 thousand US dollars. It is worth noting that this car is in demand due to the available loan programs:

first installment - from two thousand dollars (possibly to offset the delivery of an old car under the Trade-In program);
loan term - up to 72 months;
the annual interest on the loan is 3,9 percent (and now compare with the domestic loan programs that we wrote about on Vodi.su - 15-30 percent per year).

In addition, Hyundai runs various promotions from time to time to reduce the monthly payment. Also, when buying a hybrid, you can immediately receive a discount of up to $ 5000 under the subsidy program.

Although it is worth noting that in this model the electric engine is rather weak - only 52 horsepower. It is paired with a 2-liter gasoline unit with 156 hp. Fuel consumption in the urban cycle is 6 liters, which is relatively low for a D-segment sedan. On the highway, consumption will be even less.

The company plans for the summer-autumn of 2015 to launch a Plug-In-Hybrid on the market, which will be charged from an outlet, while the version described above is charged directly from the generator while driving.

BMW i3

BMW i3 is a hybrid hatchback that is in the TOP-10 of 2015. Its release began in 2013, according to its parameters, the BMW i3 belongs to the B-class. This car has several innovations:

the passenger capsule is made of carbon fiber;
the presence of the EcoPro + system - the transition to an electric motor, the power of which is enough for 200 km of track, while the maximum speed does not exceed 90 km / h, and the air conditioner is turned off;
extra-urban fuel consumption - 0,6 liters.

Such indicators are largely achieved due to reduced weight and 19-inch alloy wheels. Prices for this nice machine fluctuate between 31-35 thousand euros.

In Russia and Ukraine it is available only on pre-order, while the price will take into account all customs duties.

Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid

This car can be ordered in official salons in Moscow, while its price will be from three million rubles. Volvo has always been positioned as a premium car.

The characteristics of this hybrid are as follows:

50-kilowatt electric motor (68 hp);
215 hp turbodiesel, or 2 hp 121-liter gasoline engine;
four-wheel drive (an electric motor drives the rear axle);
fuel consumption - 1,6-2 liters in the combined cycle;
acceleration to hundreds - 6 seconds with a turbodiesel or 11 seconds on gasoline.

The car is spacious enough, there is everything for comfortable trips over long distances, the driver and passengers will feel quite comfortable. It is charged both from the generator and from an ordinary outlet.
