Exchanging a truck for a truck: what are the options?

Accordingly, due to increased loads and mileage of hundreds of thousands of kilometers, there comes a time when the depreciation costs for maintenance become too high. In this case, the owner has several options:

• continue to invest in maintaining the technical condition;
• hand over a truck under the recycling program to receive a discount of up to 350 thousand on the purchase of a new one;
• sell the vehicle;
• exchange it for a newer one with or without a surcharge.

Consider how the exchange of trucks takes place. Actually, we have already touched on this topic in an article about the key-to-key car exchange. In principle, the procedure is exactly the same.

Trade-In

Trade-In is the most popular type of exchange.

Its advantages are as follows:

• produced in an official salon, you get 100% guarantees that the purchased vehicle is legally clean;
• saving time and money - you can make a deal in just a few hours;
• you can purchase both a completely new car and a used car (the latter are being diagnosed, all the shortcomings and defects will be shown to you).

The delivery of trucks under this program is offered by almost all official salons that are representatives of domestic and foreign auto companies: GAZ, ZIL, KamAZ, MAZ, Mercedes, Volvo, MAN and others. In the same way, you can exchange special equipment: truck cranes, loader cranes, tank trucks, and so on.

The service is available to both legal entities and individuals.

To use it, you must present:

• personal passport (if a legal entity, then a certificate of registration of an LLC);
• data sheet;
• registration certificate;
• other documents on the car - service book, diagnostic card.

An agreement will be signed with you, the cost of your old vehicle will be announced after the diagnosis. The only negative is that you are unlikely to get 100% of the real market value of your vehicle, usually salons pay 70-85 percent. In addition, there are certain requirements for the vehicle: not older than 10 years, more or less normal technical condition. For example, GAZ-53 of 1980 you will not be able to exchange under this program.

Exchange between individuals

If Trade-in does not suit you, you can independently look for those interested in the exchange. Fortunately, on any automotive site with ads, there are enough such people.

Once a suitable option is found, you can proceed to the execution of the transaction.

You can arrange it in several ways:

• contract of sale;
• exchange agreement;
• through a general power of attorney;
• donation agreement.

The most popular are the first two options.

The contract of sale, as well as the contract of exchange, do not require notarization. We have already written on Vodi.su about how the sale is processed. When exchanging, the only difference is that you draw up 2 contracts. With an equivalent exchange, that is, “key to key” - without additional payment, you can specify any amount.

Please note that if the car is less than 3 years old, you will have to pay 13 percent tax on income, so discuss in advance how much to indicate in order to pay less to the state.

The exchange agreement also does not require any assurance, the form can be easily downloaded on the Internet or written by hand on a plain sheet of paper. In case of an unequal exchange, you must specify the amount of the surcharge and the conditions for its payment - immediately or in installments. It is clear that when filling out both types of forms, you need to carefully check all the data, do not forget about the possibility of checking a car by VIN code for fines on the traffic police website.

After the transaction is completed, the vehicle must be re-registered to itself, for this you are given 10 calendar days.

Sometimes it is beneficial to arrange an exchange through a power of attorney. In fact, you simply change cars without re-registration, and you only need to add a new driver to the OSAGO policy. To do this, you need to contact the insurance company with the appropriate application. Perhaps because of this, the cost of OSAGO will increase if the driver's CBM coefficient is too low.

A donation agreement is usually drawn up in cases where they do not want to pay taxes. There shouldn't be any problems filling it out.

Exchange of trucks between legal entities

Since legal entities have to report to the tax authorities, the exchange is processed exclusively under an exchange agreement.

It has a more complex form and takes into account a lot of circumstances:

• validity;
• rights and obligations of the parties;
• the procedure for the transfer of goods;
• responsibility;
• termination procedure;
• Force Majeure.

The PTS and the act of acceptance and delivery of the vehicle are attached to the contract. After the document is certified with seals and signatures of the heads of the organization, it becomes legally binding.
