How to get a taxi license, where it can be done without an individual entrepreneur

If you have your own car or truck, then the easiest way to earn money is to work as a taxi driver for the transport of passengers or goods. Those times when it was possible to “taxi” without a license are long gone. Only a person with a certificate of an entrepreneur or a legal entity can obtain a taxi license.

So, if you know your city well and want to earn extra money as a taxi driver on your own car, then you need to:

1. register as an individual entrepreneur and indicate private transport as a field of activity;
2. have a fully serviceable private or leased car;
3. have a driving experience of three to five years (depending on the region);
4. purchase a taximeter and identification marks for the car - checkers and a lantern.

When contacting the Glavavtotransport Inspectorate of your locality, you need to provide the following documents:

• IP registration certificate and extract and USRIP, IP seal;
• passport;
• passport for the car and a certificate of registration of the vehicle in the traffic police.

Having handed over all these documents, you just have to wait for 15-30 days until a decision is made. You will have to pay about two thousand rubles for the services of officials, this money will not be returned to you, even if you do not receive a taxi license. If everything goes well, then you will be issued a permit for a period of 5 years, which will be valid only in the region where you are registered as an entrepreneur. A copy of the permit, notarized, must be in the passenger compartment of the car and you must present it at the first request of a passenger or a traffic police officer.

It is worth noting that in mid-2012, penalties for taxi drivers for non-compliance with the law were tightened:

• for failure to issue a check to a passenger - a fine of 1000 rubles;
• for the absence of identification marks and a lantern - a fine of 3000 rubles;
• for illegally installed identification marks and a lantern - a fine of 5000 rubles and confiscation of the lantern.

In a word, it will be cheaper to take care of all this at once. If you roughly calculate how much money you will have to pay for obtaining a license, registering an IP, buying a taximeter, a cash register (although it is allowed to fill out receipts by hand, but with a seal), then the amount comes out to be about 10-15 thousand rubles, not so much, but you are provided with a good source of income.
