Kia today released a nearly five-minute video showing the interior of the Kia EV6, the South Korean company's new electrician. At the same time, the reliable Bjorn Nyland took a closer look at the real car.

Kia EV6 - what can please, what can be so-so

Let's start with the manufacturer's presentation. The system's interface has changed to resemble the Hyundai Ioniq 5, but the Bold Tahoma typeface remains the same. It is a pity it could be updated. A good impression is made by the active 12,3-inch displays against the background of the dark cockpit, the black steering wheel looks good, which in a dark-bright smiling configuration did not appeal to everyone (second photo).

Kia boasts a completely flat floor at the rear - the MEB-platform cars have a few millimeters of hillock disguised by carpeting, others have a conventional middle tunnel - and a combined uniform armrest in the center tunnel where we find the inductive charger. The program runs with slight delaysTherefore, it is useful to have a shelf under the display on which you can literally hang your hand (second figure).

Judging by the map and the chosen address, the presentation is taking place in Germany. Despite this, Kia is trying to balance the cars of the Volkswagen concern. They, even in Poland, load the QWERTZ keyboard by default (look at our Skoda Enyaq driving experience), while the Kia in our western neighbors read there an unusual QWERTY layout... Or maybe it just seems to us that this eye winked at attentive observers 😉

We liked separate button for map and navigation (MAP, NAV) located on the keypad below the ventilation holes. In fact, this is a display on which subtitles can change. In any case: clicking on it is the easiest way to get back to the map. Vehicles based on the MEB platform (VW ID.3, ID.4, Skoda Enyaq iV, Audi Q4 e-tron) do not have this option.

What's intriguing is the air conditioning control panel. ability to enable airflow settingswhen using windshield washers. The graphics are similar to those used by Tesla, but the South Korean manufacturer hasn't tried to hide the air vents in the curves of the cockpit.

And now film by Bjorn Nyland... YouTuber has the opportunity to get acquainted with a static practically production version. According to his measurements, the clearance of the Kii EV6 will be about 17 centimeters, according to the manufacturer. The floor of the trunk is 94 x 104 centimeters. In certain positions of the seat, the front passenger will not be able to substitute his feet under him, Nyland had a hard time, although he was without shoes (12:46). Despite its short stature he only managed to hold two fingers over his head. Up front, it was a fist - that's the price for a silhouette that combines more of a combo/firing brake style than an SUV.

The seat of the sofa is not very high, unfortunately Nyland did not measure the distance from the floor. This is definitely higher than in Mercedes EQA... Compared to the Volkswagen ID.4, the car seems cramped, who need more space on the E-GMP platform (800V setting), a taller silhouette like the Ioniq 5 will do.
