Mercedes EQA 250 - first impressions of Autocar, though the premiere is only ... tomorrow

The all-electric GLA Mercedes EQA will premiere on Wednesday 20 January. A representative of the British portal Autocar had the opportunity to drive a car before the premiere. All indications are that the GLA and EQA will not be very different from each other, except of course the drive and minor visual adjustments to the electrics.

Mercedes EQA - everything we know and guess

In the first year of sale, the offer must be launched Mercedes EQA 250, model z 140 kW motor (190 ls) behind the wheel front wheels... The lineup will also include an all-wheel drive (AWD) variant offered under the AMG branding. Battery capacity and other technical data of the vehicle are not yet known, reach should be "more than 400 kilometers" (WLTP units?) - but this is also unofficial information.

If, however, they are successful, the battery should contain about 60-70 kWh of energy.

Compared to the GLA, the EQA has a blank grille and small styling inserts outside and inside the model. The middle tunnel remained, but the floor behind is slightly higherSo the knees of the rear seat passengers will be bent at a different angle. In addition, the electric model has the classic Start button and a steering-wheel-mounted mode switch (source).

An Autocar journalist says the model's inverter is louder than the EQC, but of course quieter than any of the GLA's internal combustion engines. According to a media representative acceleration to 100 km / h may take less than 7 seconds.

Like the EQC, the Mercedes EQA offers driving modes from D+ to D--. The first means maximum recovery of strength (comfort in the city), the second - a free ride "idling", which is convenient when driving on the highway. The steering system has the same characteristics as in the GLA (and front-wheel drive), so the car will not offer us such a sharp turn as, for example, with the VW ID.3. Despite the heavy weight, the suspension does a good job of dampening the bumps in the road.

The new electrician in the Mercedes lineup must own 3-phase on-board charger operate up to 11 kW (alternating current) and allow direct current (DC) charging with power up to 100 kW.

The premiere of the car will take place on Wednesday, January 20, at 11 am Polish time. It will be available HERE or in the video below:
