Mio Spirit LM 7700. Navigation does not break!

Mio Spirit LM 7700. Navigation does not break! The Mio Spirit LM 7700 convinces with its price-performance ratio and, above all, with its excellent functionality.

The auto navigation market is full of offers. However, only a few months of intensive use give us the answer to the question, how does this or that product work? This time we decided to take a look at the Mio Spirit LM 7700 navigator.

Mio Spirit LM 7700. What's inside?

Mio Spirit LM 7700. Navigation does not break! The device uses an ARM Cortex A7 processor with a clock speed of 800 MHz and 128 MB of RAM. Due to its very energy-efficient characteristics, it is quite often used in popular smartphones and tablets. The very popular MSR2112-LF GPS chipset is also responsible for receiving and processing the GPS signal. Mio Spirit LM 7700 uses Windows CE as its operating system.

Almost all work with the device is carried out using a color resistive touch screen with a diagonal of 5 inches (12,5 cm) and a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels. Almost all operations, because the navigation has one button, the task of which is to turn the device on and off.

Mio Spirit LM 7700 Installation

Mio Spirit LM 7700. Navigation does not break!A characteristic feature of this navigation is its unique nature of the installation. Of course, the handle itself is attached to the glass surface using a traditional suction cup. The difference, however, shows up when it comes to fixing it in the holder. In most devices, they are fixed with plastic hooks - a simple and quite effective solution.

However, here the navigation in the holder is mounted on magnets. Brilliant solution! This allows you to quickly connect / fix in the holder and quickly remove if necessary. The connection is solid (we didn't notice the navigation accidentally loosening or falling off the holder) and extremely efficient.

Anyone who wants to remove the navigation system quickly and efficiently (for example, when leaving the car) will find out how good and functional this solution is and will connect it very quickly after returning. It is a pity that Mio did not think of a soft case, thanks to which the device could be moved or stored without fear of scratching or damaging it.

Mio Spirit LM 7700. How does it work?

Mio Spirit LM 7700. Navigation does not break!Navigation is easy, even intuitive, and we'll get to know all of its features very quickly. The menu is controlled by six colored rectangles displayed on the screen, to which individual functions are assigned. After entering the desired travel point, navigation will offer us four alternative route options: the fastest, economical, easiest and shortest. Sometimes routes intersect, and we can choose not four, but three, two or one road. When selected, information about the distance to the destination and the estimated time of arrival will be displayed.

When displaying the route, thanks to the Lane Assistant function, the device will tell you (visually and using a voice message) in which lane to move. It will also warn us about speeding and speed cameras.

An interesting solution (although not always completely trustworthy) is the IQ Routes system, which helps in finding roads along the routes that other drivers most often take. This data is collected and compiled by TomTom and downloaded to the device's memory along with updates.

It is important to note that the maps are provided by TomTom, they are updated four times a year and we can download them for free while navigating.

Mio Spirit LM 7700. Our rating

Mio Spirit LM 7700. Navigation does not break! We have been using the Mio Spirit 7700 LM intensively for several months now and it has served as support and control for the factory navigations that are fitted to new cars.

Covering almost 30 kilometers in 7 countries in Europe, Spirit 7700 LM has never disappointed us. What we particularly liked was the very fast (sometimes faster than factory navigation) display of alternative routes when we turned or crossed the street. As we have noticed, the device copes well with temporary signal losses caused by driving in tunnels or under bridges.

Those who have ever tried navigation with a magnetic holder, most likely, will not imagine buying another. We, after several months of intensive testing, can only confirm this! It is a pity that Mio does not add some cover for navigation. But this is perhaps the only drawback.

Mio Spirit 7700 LM model with Poland map is currently only 369 zł. Europe map version - 449, and the version with the "TRUCK" mode - 699 zł.
