Moto Morini Corsaro 1200

The way it is! The Morini motto has been revived by the founding family, more precisely two families. Half of the property is owned by the Morini and Berti families. Why do we explain this? Because they are full of initial enthusiasm and love for motorsport, which, unfortunately, is very rare today. But KTM has done well with a similar key, MV Agusta and now Morini are doing great too. We are undoubtedly witnessing a resurgence of the European motorcycle industry, which is not easily losing ground to competitors from the Far East.

Moto Morini Corsaro 1200 is interesting primarily for its philosophy. First they made a heart, that is, an engine, which in this case is a two-cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder, driven by gears and a chain.

They all rely on simplicity and reliability of the design. Does the fact that the first valve adjustment is only necessary after 60.000 to 300.000 kilometers tell you? Or that a mechanic can be of great service with an engine mounted on a steel tubular frame and that the target resource is around XNUMX XNUMX kilometers! Yes, these are all bold statements, even for Italians, who sometimes like to exaggerate a little. But understanding engine building brings everything together into a meaningful whole.

Franco Lambertini is an engineering guru who worked at Ferrari until 1970 and learned a lot of secrets there. The name "bialbero corsa corta" was named after the famous 250 cc engine. See with which they were three-time Italian champions. Well, today this engine has a bore of 107 millimeters and a stroke of only 66 millimeters, which means that very flat pistons move very quickly in it, and that the responsiveness of the engine is its strong point. But the torque and power are also good.

In other words, 123 Nm of torque at 6.500 rpm and 140 “horsepower” at 9.000 rpm are telling figures, which in practice are also confirmed by the excellent flexibility and evenly increasing power of the engine. You can go slow and just enjoy the gearbox "stuck" in sixth gear and benefit from the torque that's huge from 2.500 rpm.

However, you can tighten the throttle tightly and the Corsaro will be an extremely fast athlete in no time, unafraid of corners or long planes. Every time it pulls with a huge amount of healthy power, and even on poor asphalt, it stays perfectly calm on the target line. If you have the opportunity, we advise you to try it yourself at least once, because you don't ride such a special motorcycle every day.

They also achieved this with an 87-degree V-engine design, which is a good starting point for mass centralization, or the lowest possible center of gravity of the bike. The compact and short design means even better driving performance. Another interesting fact: the engine block is made of a single aluminum and magnesium casting, and the guts are accessed from the side. It even has a cassette transmission for easier operation.

The fact that it is full of beautiful details and made in the style of "tambourine", that is, "eternal". These days, when most designers are looking for something new in sharp-edged design, the Corsaro becomes even more special, valuable and unique. least of all in our eyes. This motorcycle will be beautiful in ten years, and we dare not pretend to be any other motorcycle.

But there are no mistakes. Due to the sports gearbox and anti-lock brake clutch, it is difficult to detect idle when inadvertently downshifting (it is always necessary to downshift one gear for this problem to go away). The passenger seat can be larger and more comfortable, and you also need a little more front brake recoil. But these are little things that are hardly worth mentioning.

As they say in Moto Morini, Corsaro was created not for a specific group of buyers, but for individuals. When you become a Corsar owner, you are given a username and password to access information and services on their website www.motomorini.com 24 hours a day. And although it is so special, it is also not too expensive.
