Test drives of electric vehicles

Opel Corsa-e, TEST range: 292 km @ 90 km / h, 200 km @ 120 km / h [YouTube, Bjorn Nyland]

Bjorn Nyland checked the real mileage of the Opel Corsa-e (2021) in ideal conditions, at 18-20 degrees Celsius. It turned out that when driving along the highway at a speed of “trying to keep 120 km / h”, we would have to charge the car every 200 kilometers. At a distance of 200–250 km, movement at a speed of 90–100 km / h may be faster, although ... slower.

TEST: Opel Corsa-e (2021)

Electric Opel Corsa-e is a passenger car segment B (city car) with engine o power 100 kW (136 km) i battery capacity 45 (50) kWh... The version tested by Nyland was fitted with 16-inch rims. YouTube measurements have shown that a user can use 45 kWh out of 40,9 kWh of usable power. Citroen e-C4 has the same result, Opel Mokka-e (42,9 kWh) is better. The energy consumption was quite unexpected: at higher temperatures, the Citroen e-C4 consumed less, and its larger body did not bother him much, even at 120 km / h.

Overall, the Corsa-e offered the following lineup:

  • 292 km at 90 km / h and discharged to 0 battery (consumption 14 kWh / 100 km),
  • 263 km at 90 km / h and battery discharge up to 10 percent [calculated by www.elektrowoz.pl],
  • 204 km @ 90 km / h and battery at 80-> 10 percent cycle
  • 200 km at 120 km / h and discharged to 0 battery (consumption 20,5 kWh / 100 km),
  • 180 km at 120 km / h and the battery discharged to 10 percent,
  • 140 km @ 120 km / h and battery at 80-> 10 percent cycle.

From a prospect's perspective, the two results we have highlighted in bold may be the most important. The first will tell him how much he can drive on provincial and national roads to get there without stress (or recharging). Secondly, information about highway traffic: those who want to hold 120 km / h must be ready to charge every 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Opel Corsa-e model year (2021) has two advantages over older variants... The first is optional Level 2 semi-autonomous driving systemwhich is already available in most (all?) PSA / Stellantis Group electrical engineering. Second improved charge curveThanks to this, cars have to support 100 kW to 30 percent of battery capacity, while in older models, power has dropped to 20 percent of battery capacity. The result is shorter truck stops:

In a commentary to another video by Bjorn Nyland, it is said that it was so. in an older Opel Corsa-e you may have an improved load curve. All you need to do is update the software, and if everything goes according to plan, it will take about 3 hours.
