Piaggio Beverly Tourer 300ie

Residents of Ljubljana and those who travel daily to white Ljubljana under pressure, be careful. There are more and more maxi scooters on the roads, as motorcycle dealers have also confirmed to us, and in Piaggi's offer, this star is a real Beverly.

First, the Vespa GTS was bumped from 250 to 300 cubic meters and became the most powerful production Vespa of all time. It is now in Piaggio's Beverly, which is also sold in versions with 250, 400 and 500 cbm engines. Why three hundred more? Obviously, there are enough customers with different needs for Piaggio to be able to afford such a diverse offer, as users are divided into those who will ride a scooter only in the city, and those who ride such a bike for a week on vacation. Three hundred belong somewhere in between.

It jumps very well out of town, but not as aggressively as the Vespa due to its large wheels. It accelerates to 60 km / h in four and a half seconds, and to 12 in 13 I aimed with a mobile phone in my left hand. We're aiming for the XNUMX new Clio dCi by the way, so with such a motorized Beverly you will be among the fastest from traffic light to traffic light. The maximum speed is equal to the maximum speed allowed on the motorway, and not even more than a kilometer, even if you lean over the windshield, which is part of the standard accessories in the Touring version.

Aside from the jump drive, it is worth noting the really good ride quality which is the result of a solid frame, quality suspension (two shocks in the back!) And 16-inch wheels. Compared to the smaller 13-inch wheels on regular scooters, they provide much more stability in corners and at higher speeds, so Beverly rides well on gravel. Checked!

However, Beverly has a downside due to the large wheels: the otherwise long luggage compartment under the seat (opened by a button under the steering wheel or a lever hidden in a drawer in front of the knees) is shallow and therefore only swallows two. small jet helmets, larger (XL), a one-piece helmet hidden in them is only a dream. We recommend a suitcase. They also didn't show much generosity with the legroom as it was stolen by the middle comb.

The shape of the rear of the scooter is also to blame for the fact that the volume of the luggage compartment is small. This one is elegantly slim and thanks to its retro lines, it looks like it will be trendy for decades to come. The scooter is equipped with a side and center stand, a suitcase holder and a good dashboard (speed, two odometers, fuel level and coolant temperature, clock). The fuel consumption in the test was 4 liters per hundred kilometers, but the scooter was practically new, so we also hope that the front brake will carry a little. A sharp stop required a sharp grip on the lever.

Come on, at least give it a try. I don't know anyone who wouldn't be impressed with a maxi scooter test in a crowd (Ljubljana). By installing warm hand guards and foot covers, you can extend the season of use almost all year round. It would be fair to give us some more free parking spaces, right? Mayor, do you prefer one Tuareg or four such scooters in one parking space?
