Toll road Moscow-St. Petersburg - detailed scheme, map, opening

The quality of roads can be judged on the level of development of the state. In this regard, Russia still has a long way to go, it is enough to drive through the outback to be convinced of this. However, the government is taking steps to remedy the situation.

We have already written on the pages of our portal Vodi.su about the construction of the Central Ring Road - the Central Ring Road, we also touched upon the topic of toll highways in Russia.

Today, in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, large-scale road construction is underway, and one of the stages of this construction is the Moscow-St. Petersburg toll highway, on which great hopes are placed:

  • firstly, it will unload the Rossiya federal highway, which cannot cope with the increased flow of vehicles;
  • secondly, it will prove to the guests of the Championship that the old saying about “the two main Russian troubles” loses its meaning at the present stage.

According to the project, the total length of this ultra-modern highway should be 684 kilometers.

It will be fully illuminated, the number of lanes for traffic in both directions will be from four to ten in different sections. The maximum speed will reach 150 km/h. The width of one strip is almost four meters - 3,75 m, the width of the dividing strip is five to six meters.

As shown in the master plan, green spaces will be planted along the entire length to reduce the negative impact on the environment. In those places where the highway will pass through settlements, noise barriers will be installed. Thanks to the intervention of environmentalists, cattle passes are also provided (after all, the route will pass through agricultural areas), tunnels for the movement of wild animals will also be equipped in the body of the highway. Efficient treatment facilities are also being built.

To increase safety, energy-intensive barrier fences are installed. All road markings will be applied using low-toxic paints. A special system of installation of road signs and indicators is being developed.

The Moscow-St. Petersburg highway is also a complex structure in terms of engineering. The designers plan that along its entire length there will be:

  • 36 multi-level interchanges;
  • 325 artificial structures - bridges, flyovers, tunnels, overpasses.

The fare is still not exactly known, especially since only some sections will be paid, although on free sections the maximum speed will not exceed 80-90 km / h.

If you want to accelerate to 150 kilometers, then you will have to pay for such pleasure in different segments from 1,60 rubles. up to four rubles per kilometer.

And to get from Moscow to St. Petersburg along this road, you will have to pay from 600 to 1200 rubles.

The same drivers who do not want to pay that kind of money, or are not particularly in a hurry, can drive along the Rossiya highway.

Chronicle of the construction of the toll highway Moscow-St. Petersburg

As usual, the decision to build the track was made a long time ago. 2006 year. After that, a project was drawn up for a long time, then concessionaires were selected, projects were reworked for new contractors, and the economic side was justified.

Preparatory work began in 2010, and protests immediately began over the clearing of clearings for construction in the Khimki forest.

Since January 2012, the reconstruction of the transport interchange at 78 km of the Moscow Ring Road near Busino began - it is from here that the new transport highway will originate.

By the beginning of December 2014, it is planned to put into operation some sections within the Moscow region, thanks to which it will be possible to reduce the load on the already functioning highways and improve the situation with traffic jams.

However, 100% reliable information is very difficult to find, as construction plans are constantly shifting.

Ordinary drivers do not speak very positively about the route, who are outraged by the simple fact: “why do we have to pay road tax, which just goes to the construction of such routes? The state builds highways for our money, and we still have to pay for travel on them ... ”

I would still like to hope that by 2018 the track will really be ready in full, and the guests of the World Cup will be able to ride from Moscow to St. Petersburg with a breeze.
