PRE-ASR

The Japanese at Nissan have created this new and original pre-warning device for poor traction situations. In fact, Nissan technicians are working on experiments with two new safety devices for vehicles: a warning device for poor road adhesion points and cameras that transmit images on board in real time.

The first collects data from the intelligent transport system ITS and ABS, highlighting critical points on the navigator display, also using historical data on accidents that have occurred at that point, and alerting the driver in the event of a particularly slippery road.

Instead, the cameras integrate this information, providing images of mountain passes in the region of Japan where the service operates to indicate to the driver in advance in which areas traffic is critical due to snow or inclement weather.

This new phase of testing follows an initial experiment that began with 100 cars in the city of Sapporo, in which it was found that drivers, if warned, became more attentive to driving, drove with greater attention and at lower speeds. Not only that, they maintained safer behavior even on roads that were not reported critical conditions.
