The Q4 is Alfa Romeo's all-wheel drive system that provides constant and dynamic distribution of traction to four wheels thanks to three differentials (Torsen C type central self-locking and rear axle unbalanced torque distribution). thus achieving a very high level of active safety.

The system also provides excellent traction in all traction conditions by automatically controlling any skidding. Integrated electronic systems: VDC, which guarantees (skid correction), MSR (Motor Schleppmoment Regelung), which controls the engine power together with the ASR (Anti Slip Regulation) anti-skid system.

As a four-wheel drive control system, it is an overactive safety system.
