Renault Zoe, long-range test: 6 years, 300 kilometers, 1 battery and engine change

The French website Automobile Propre described an interesting case of a Renault Zoe with a range of 300 kilometers. The owner managed to cover such a distance in 000 years, despite the fact that the car has a 6 kWh battery, which allows you to drive 22-130 kilometers on a single charge.

Renault Zoe Long Range Test (2013)

Frederic Richard bought his car in 2013 for 16 euros, equivalent to 68,4 PLN (today). The amount is small, but at that time he could only take a car with a battery on lease - the maximum possible option was 195 euros (~ PLN 834) per month. Since that year's Renault Zoe had batteries with a capacity of only 22 kWh, he convinced his employer to install a charging point in the company.

The car is equipped with a Q210 engine, i.e. manufactured by Continental.

New Buyers Zoya previously drove a BMW 7 Series with a gas engine system. The reservoir was filled on average every three days. After switching to Zoe, electricity and battery rentals were less than 5 cents per kilometer. This is less than 5 euros per 100 km, which is less than 21,4 zlotys per 100 km.

What's broken? In the first year of operation, with a mileage of only 20 XNUMX km, a coolant gasket worked in the engine. It was replaced under warranty in three days, but the diagnosis took a month and a half. The owner is not very happy with the waiting period and, I must add, similar opinions come from all over Europe.

Three years later, in 2016, the on-board charger failed. Also replaced under warranty.

Replacement of the battery after 200 thousand km of run

After driving more than 200 kilometers, Richard noticed a large drop in the range from a single charge. The odometer began to suggest that the car would be able to drive only 90 kilometers on the battery, while the owner of the described Renault Zoe every day must cover 85 kilometers in one direction... After checking, it turned out that capacity dropped to 71 percent of factory capacity.

> What is the degradation of the battery in electric vehicles? Geotab: Average 2,3% per year.

According to the traction battery rental agreement, the traction batteries must be replaced when they start offering less than 75 percent of their original capacity. There was also: it has a recycled battery installed, but is “in mint condition”.

Another renovation? The French say that after a mileage of about 200 kilometers, he replaced the brake pads and shock absorbers. The two worn wishbones were replaced with new ones at 250 km. And it's all.

He also makes longer car trips and praises hourly stops after every hour on the road - but here we believe him in moderation 😉
