  • 2 steel tubes for the manufacture of bushings with a diameter of 8-10 mm (so that the anchor freely enters them) and about 4 cm long;
  • self-locking nuts for M8;
  • washers to anchors that do not pass through the chain link;
  • thick nylon threads.

For work, you will need an awl, a gypsy needle, wrenches for nuts and bolts. Slings can be purchased at hardware and travel stores.

Step by step guide

The anti-slip bracelet is assembled in the following order:

  1. On the M8 bolt - washer.
  2. The last link in the chain.
  3. Another puck.
  4. Metal tube as a sleeve.
  5. Third puck.
  6. Link of the second chain.
  7. Last puck.
  8. Self-locking nut (tighten firmly).

Next, you need to do the same for the second half of the product. After that remains:

  1. Pass the first track under the bushing, pull it out by 10 cm.
  2. Sew the end of the gate thrown over the bolt to its main part.
  3. Put on a lock or buckle.
  4. Attach the second strap (without a lock) in the same way to the other part of the bracelet.

For more convenient tightening, it is better to make a tape with a free end (without a buckle) longer.

The simplest alternative to traction control chains is homemade anti-skid bracelets from old tires. Outdated rubber is put on the tire, it turns out a kind of “shoes” for the wheel.

Materials can be taken for free at any tire shop. You need to choose the same diameter of rubber as the wheel, or a size larger. It will turn out a simple and budget option for antibux. You will also need a grinder or a jigsaw.

To make anti-skid bracelets from an old tire, it is necessary to cut out pieces of rubber around its entire circumference, having previously marked the cut points with chalk. It should look like a gear.

The next step is to cut off the excess material along the inner diameter of the tire so that the "shoe" fits freely on the wheel.

Anti-skid means are installed only on the drive axle. On cars with front-wheel drive - on the front wheels, with rear-wheel drive - on the rear. It is impossible to put on anti-boxes on the slaves: they will slow down and worsen the patency.

Do-it-yourself snow chains from old tires are simply pulled over the tire. If desired, in several places you can make ties that will securely hold the “shoes” on the wheel.
