Skoda CitigoE iV - my impressions quickly [Reader] + UPDATE: list of car dealerships where the car is located

Our reader, Mr. Marcin, opted for the Skoda CitigoE iV, a small and relatively cheap electrician in the A segment. Yesterday he had the opportunity to test the car and was disappointed with it. Regardless, he decided to buy the car because of the price and surcharges due to start soon.

The following content is a record of our Reader's statements. For ease of reading, we did not use italics. The text has undergone minor revisions.

Skoda CitigoE iV - specifications:

  • segment: A (small car),
  • battery: 32,3 kWh (total: 36,8 kWh),
  • engine: 61 kW (82 hp), 210 Nm of torque,
  • 260 km WLTP, or about 220 km in real range in mixed driving mode.

My general impression after contact with the machine? Badly. I'm very disappointed.

I knew the Citigo wasn't a premium car, but the savings across the board are huge. The graphic on the board in front of the passenger looks like it was drawn by a 10-year-old boy coloring grids in his notebook. There are no armrests and, attention, there is no start button, there is a normal key! Mercy, this is an electrician in 2020, not a Lada Samara born in 1985!

When driving at high speed, the tires make such noise that it is difficult to feel the advantage of an electrician - silence in the cabin. At 130 km / h I almost scream. I found out from the dealer that the cheapest were ordered from them. It was price that mattered, not noise or drag coefficient.

Editor's note www.elektrowoz.pl: We received information from the dealer that the indicated (deleted) information is a communication error. Cars are always brought with summer tires, and the described Skoda CitigoE iV was equipped with winter tires, which were in stock so that the cars could be tested. This means that the final impressions may be different.

I think my biggest disappointment was when I saw the range. Catalog 260 km WLTP? Well done! During normal driving Released 182 km of range... What will happen when it comes to -20 or +35 degrees Celsius? Will the range then drop to 120 kilometers?

Until the end of January I can retire for free, but Decided to buy because of the price and surcharge... If not for them, I would feel like a horse, because the quality of the car leaves much to be desired.

I also called the dealer to swap out the cheapest Ambition for the more expensive Style trimmer with heated seats and a parking aid. Let's see how the topic develops. 🙂

Although the first impression of our reader was not very good, he still decided to buy - this proves something.

The range it signals is likely related to faster driving to test the car's capabilities. The meters show that with 2/3 charged batteries at a temperature of 6,5 degrees Celsius, the Skoda CitigoE iV's power reserve is 149 kilometers. It does 223 kilometers with fully charged battery.

This is almost the same as what we calculated earlier based on the WLTP standard (see here: TECHNICAL DATA Skoda CitigoE iV).

It is worth remembering that the catalog data for the WLTP procedure is almost always overestimated in terms of range and underestimated in terms of fuel / energy consumption. Real ranges in good conditions will be about 15 percent lower than in the catalog, and as the ambient temperature drops, the results will be even weaker, especially on cars without a heat pump.

Therefore, when buying, you should choose models with the largest possible battery and heat pump. As long as it is available on our market or the manufacturer has provided for its use, many models do not have it, this also applies to Tesla.

One final note: to date (2020), applications for subsidies for electric vehicles have not yet been announced.
