At Bjorn Nyland we are primarily interested in testing a line of vehicles because they are a reasonable indication of their capabilities. But youtuber is doing many other valuable experiments as well. One of them is trying to drive an electric car for 1 km. In this test, it turned out that the Skoda Enyaq iV can easily compete with Tesla.

TEST: Skoda Enyaq iV at a distance of 1 km.

The range test is a range test: it tells us how far we will go on a full battery, that is, how often we will have to charge when we get to work, say 40 kilometers a day to work. However, sometimes there is a need for a longer journey, and then you should be interested in Nyland tests at a distance of 1 kilometer. Of course, the Polish charging infrastructure will overtake today's Norwegian in 000-3 years, so the results of the experiments are difficult to individually transfer to our conditions. Nevertheless, Nyland's tests deserve attention.

The Skoda Enyaq iV has exactly the same drivetrain as the Volkswagen ID.4 Pro: a 77 (82) kWh battery and a 150 kW (204 hp) engine driving the rear wheels. But with a slightly lower drag coefficient than the ID.4 (0,26 instead of 0,28), it offers better range on a single charge. Speaking of charging, both models can accelerate to 125 kW.

Nyland replenished energy in the range from a dozen to just over 40 percent, in a range in which the car reaches its maximum charging power (diagram after Post operator):

The first time it was replenished after a run of 293 km, the second time - 184 km (477 km in total) and so on. The Skoda Enyaq iV battery - like all other vehicles on the MEB platform - is liquid cooled, so there are no problems with overheating.

Results? The car covered 1 km in 000 hours 10 minutes. Tesla Model X took exactly the same time to cover this distance (including charging), Audi e-tron 20 and Volkswagen ID.55 3 kWh also took exactly the same time. The Tesla Model 77 LR was 3 minutes slower, although the temperatures were extremely unfavorable, the Tesla Model 5 Performance, after averaging the results, showed similar or slightly better results. Volkswagen ID.3 4st 1 kWh was slower by 77 minutes, Ford Mustang Mach-E by 15 hours 1 minutes (but also at a much lower temperature):

The only internal combustion car on the list, the Kia Ceed Plug-in, covered this distance in the summer in 9 hours and 25 minutes (first line in the table). Anyone with a family traveling with children will read this list as a signal that if they have to stop at the toilet or eat a sandwich anyway, they can plug the car into the charger as well. With one caveat: in Poland, chargers with a capacity of more than 50 kW are still rare, so the stops will be longer [which is why we rarely discuss Nyland tests for 1 kilometer ...]

By the way, the youtuber admitted that Enyag it looks like an internal combustion machine, but with each subsequent stop he liked the car more and more... Moreover, it turned out to be more efficient on the road than the Volkswagen ID.4. Driving according to the rules and in typical Norwegian traffic.

It is worth looking at the summary at the end, from about 13:40 pm:

Editor's note www.elektrowoz.pl: we are pleased with the result of this test, because our many hours of experiment with the Skoda Enyaq iV also showed that the car will become the basic car in the family without any problems. We just need faster chargers.
