The Auto Motor und Sport portal had the opportunity to get acquainted with the electric crossover manufacturer Skoda Enyaq iV, which is the sister model of Volkswagen ID.4. There are new car battery capacity and prices: Enyaq iV should be cheaper than Volkswagen ID.3 1st!

Is the Skoda Enyaq iV price lower than the ID.3? Seems like the confusion is getting more and more

Skoda Enyaq iV is a crossover in the C-SUV segment. The Volkswagen ID.3 is a C-segment car. The first model will almost certainly offer more interior space, a higher driving position and eventually also more power than the ID.3, and yet we hear again What car will be cheaper than Volkswagen in limited edition ID.3 1st.

Auto Motor und Sport claims that The Skoda electric crossover will cost 35-40 thousand euros, which in Poland should correspond to 160 to 180 thousand zlotys.... For comparison: the cheapest Volkswagen ID.3 will cost “less than 170 thousand zlotys”. Isn't Volkswagen concerned that ID.3 buyers will be a little annoyed that they paid more for a relatively small and simple car?

Earlier, similar news appeared on the Audi Q4 e-tron:

The Enyaq iV is based on the MEB platform and is closely related to both ID.3 and ID.4 or the Audi Q4 e-tron (not to be confused with the Audi e-tron Quattro). But here's the curiosity: The journalist Auto Motor und Sport mentions a completely new battery capacity, 52 kWhnext to the 58 and 77 kWh already known to us. This is slightly more than the weakest VW ID.3, which should have 45 kWh - so it is possible that there is some kind of distortion or we are dealing with software; this is the 58 kWh version limitation.

Skoda Enyaq iV - versions

The electric Skoda is expected to arrive in the following versions:

• Skoda Enyak IV 50 – battery 52 (55) kWh, rear-wheel drive, engine 109 kW / 148 hp, range: 340 WLTP, i.e. about 290 kilometers in kind,
• Skoda Enyak IV 60 – battery 58 (62) kWh, rear-wheel drive, engine 132 kW / 179 hp, range: 390 WLTP, i.e. about 330 kilometers in kind,
• Skoda Enyak IV 80 - Battery 77 (82) kWh, rear-wheel drive, engine 150 kW / 204 km, flight range 500 units. WLTP, that is, about 430 kilometers in kind,
• Skoda Enyaq IV 80X i vRS – Batteries 77 (82) kWh, all-wheel drive, engines 195 kW / 265 hp or 225 kW / 306 hp, a range of 460 WLTP units, which in physical terms is approximately 390 kilometers.

Enyaq IV: driving experience and interior

The representative of the German portal was pleased with the driving experience. The steering wheel was direct acting and the suspension felt comfortable and sounded solid, although it did not have adjustable damping shocks. The test car was rear-wheel drive, but Auto Motor und Sport learned that there will eventually be a Skoda Enyaq iV vRS, which will be powered by two engines with a combined output of 225 kW (306 hp).

Incorrectly tuned brakes were a problem, but the model is still in the design phase, in the "70 to 85 percent" stage. Like VW ID.3, The Enyaq iV will have drum brakes in the back..

In the center of the dashboard is a 13-inch display (VW ID.3 - 10-inch), while the meters behind the wheel are relatively small. According to Skoda, only key elements remain in the car. Skoda Enyaq iV can be additionally equipped with a system of projection of important information on the windshield (HUD). Luggage compartment capacity 585 liters of all modifications, the vehicle will be equipped with an on-board charger with a capacity of 7,2 or 11 kW (alternating current). The maximum supported DC charging power is 125 kW.

The car is due to be unveiled later this year, although sales are likely to start at the turn of 2020/2021 or 2021.
