Parking. How to perform the maneuver effectively?

Parking. How to perform the maneuver effectively? Skillful parking is just as important for safe driving as driving on the road. At the same time, every fourth driver has problems with parking. Drivers admit that they prefer to park far away from their destination and have a convenient parking space, rather than trying to squeeze in closer and with problems into a narrow and hard-to-reach place.

Parking is one of the most stressful maneuvers for a driver. Especially in the city, where it is difficult to find a parking space, and drivers are nervous and in a hurry trying to find a parking space. – It is never recommended to rush, especially if you are trying to park safely. Therefore, if we know that finding a suitable parking space in the area where we are heading will be problematic, let's leave earlier and allocate more time for a parking maneuver,” says Zbigniew Veseli, director of Renault's safe driving school.

Even experienced drivers have problems with parking, so everyone should learn a few important rules that will help them perform this maneuver correctly. Trainers from the Renault Safe Driving School advise on what to do to make parking convenient, safe and avoid conflict situations.

How to park efficiently and correctly?

1. Before parking, let's give a signal to other road users about the intention to make a maneuver.

2. Do not forget to park in the designated place and do not run into a neighboring place - even a minimal entry into a neighboring place can block the entry of another driver.

3. Park so that you leave min. 40 cm for easy opening of doors and unhindered exit from the vehicle.

4. After parking, make sure that we do not block the exit of other drivers standing nearby, and that we occupy the designated place in the most efficient way.

5. Do not park the car closer than 10 m from the pedestrian crossing.

6. If we are partially standing on the sidewalk, leave 1,5 m of sidewalk for pedestrians

7. Do not block gates and driveways with your car.
