Suzuki GSX-R1000

We know that we were a little late with the test, but, unfortunately, the forces that determine our destiny were not so favorable for us that the test, which we began in late spring, could be carried out on our roads to the end. hippodrome. Without it, the test of such a motorcycle would be incomplete, since Suzuki was created specifically for the racetrack. Moreover, they have managed to dominate race tracks around the world. Australian road racing legend Troy Corser, the superbike world title winner, bestowed (for Suzuki) the effort and dedication of the engineers who put together a truly stunning bike to celebrate the anniversary.

First of all, his uncompromising power shocks. 180 "horses" at 166 kilograms dry weight promise purebred racing performance. It also shows you immediately on the race track. The GSX-R1000 does not endanger the driver with his seat. "Are you going to play sports or go somewhere?" It seems like that style. So it is clear that it is not designed for long trips, much less two trips. But we immediately forgot about all this when the excellent Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier tires reached operating temperature and, glued, followed the ideal line of the winding racing track in Spanish Almeria.

Since we were able to test the rest of the Japanese company at the same time, the picture of the GSX-R became even clearer. It shows its light weight when cornering and when braking, as it is very light when driving. However, his strength does not dry up even in distant planes, when others are already beginning to suffocate. The engine pulls easily, screams aggressively over a single squirrel-cage titanium exhaust, and the numbers on the digital speedometer continue to rise. Since there are a series of turns after each plane, of course, all engine power doesn't really matter unless the brakes are properly tested. Well, we have nothing to complain about.

Radially mounted jaw pads do not flex and, together with good suspension and a solid frame, keep the bike in balance. There were no signs of nervousness or unpleasant jolts on the road, and the same could be said for the race track. Let's not exaggerate if we say that the "thousand" Suzuki rides just as easily as the lighter 600cc supercars, only between the legs, instead of a 120 hp grinder. there is a "stable" with a wild herd of 180 hp. ...

But make no mistake, the engine's power is well-capped with a fairly continuous upward power curve that experiences a slight dip at 8.500-11.000 rpm and then peaks out just before the analog tach needle hits 1. Someone who can hold the steering wheel well, experience one-time accelerations. In other words, for ease of reference, if the Yamaha R1000 is a real wild beast that is not easy to tame, and the Honda CBR RXNUMX Fireblade runs a little too aggressively due to ever-increasing power, the GSX-R is somewhere in between and takes the best from each.

With today's technology and the progress we see after riding a bike like this, we always ask ourselves what else they can do better, but we've asked ourselves the same question before. Another question is who needs such a motorcycle at all. For the road? Nobody! In our humble opinion, there is nothing wrong with buying racing plastic parts at the time of purchase. The racetrack is a place where such a motorcycle shows its true purpose.
