Tesla Model 3 TEST: PLN 12 per 100 km, energy consumption 20,4 kWh, 4,8 to 97 km / h, better than BMW 330i

Motor Trend conducted and published the first reliable Tesla Model 3 test. According to the authors of the article, the car drives like a Porsche and could be a much better purchase than the BMW 330i.

A Motor Trend reporter had the opportunity to test an early production Tesla Model 3 and were impressed by the acceleration of the car, which measured from 0 to 97 km / h (0-60 mph), reaching 4,8. seconds.

Tesla motorists are accustomed to such accelerations, but Motor Trend journalists note that even the Tesla Model S 60 accelerates to 97 km / h in 5 seconds. The Porsche Boxster 718 (4,5 seconds) is slightly better - except it's a small sports car, not a family sedan!

Power Consumption Tesla Model 3

The power consumption of the Tesla Model 3 measured during the entire test was 103,7 MPGe, i.e. responds driving 103,7 miles on one gallon of gasoline. Talking person: Tesla M3 consumed an average of 20,4 kilowatt-hours of energy per 100 kilometers.

If the car was in Poland and was charged only from a power outlet (energy price = 0,6 PLN / kWh), we would pay 100 PLN for a journey of 12,2 kilometers. After switching to gasoline this is equivalent to a fuel consumption of 2,6 liters per 100 kilometers.

Tesla 3 on the test track

On the test track, the car behaves very stable, like a big go-kart. All thanks to the battery suspended just above the road, which weighs almost half a ton and consists of 4 electrical cells 416-21:

The car brakes precisely and gets out of corners perfectly. The journalists noted that it is enough to slow down, set the steering wheel correctly and add gas after turning. There is no need to correct the track by the driver, which reminded the author of the Porsche Cayman and Honda Civic Type R text.

Tesla Model 3 vs BMW 330i

Thus, Motor Trend compares the Model 3 to a similarly priced BMW 330i. Tesla cars accelerate better, are faster on the track, use less power and are quiet. According to Motor Trend, it can be recommended far more than one of America's favorite BMWs.
