Test: BMW R NineT Pure is the basis of your imagination
Content
Imagination? Of course, this is just the foundation on which you can make your dreams of your own unique motorcycle come true, which you can customize yourself or with the help of the accessories catalog. They did it for artistic souls NineT Purewhich is also the entry-level model in the Nina T family. However, it is so characteristic that it leaves a strong impression after the first launch.
In fact, this is an indescribable sheet of paper, a blank canvas, on which only the foundation has been applied. So, the motorcycle is the foundation, and your imagination sets the boundaries. This family of 1.170cc air-cooled twin-cylinders also has a sexy scrambler, the Urban Urban GS enduro, and a retro-inspired semi that they simply called the Racer.
Yes, frame from Slovenia
It is technically and structurally the same as the R nineT, the frame is the same, welded in Slovenia at the former Tomos plant in Koper (Hidria Mototec), the engine is a reliable, versatile and recognizable flat-twin. with 110 “horses”, and the difference in equipment is more similar, and in the suspension. Instead of a sports fork, it has classic telescopes in the front, and the brakes do not have radial calipers, but cheaper and more classic axial ones. So they offered customers, and especially the scene where unique conversions are made, a great bike that is basically not too expensive and you can upgrade it yourself if you want.
While this is an entry-level model, it is by no means bland or cheap. When turning the throttle, a very masculine sound comes from the shortened round muffler. Riding pleasure will be complete when it accelerates sharply with sound, and the wide handlebars and the right comfortable position on the motorcycle offer a pleasant and relaxed posture in which walking through the streets of the city is fantastic.
There is no rev counter or indication of the current gear.
Pure thrives in the city not only for its ultra-modern looks, but also for its playfulness and precise handling. It flexes reliably around corners and instills confidence, and the brakes, while not supersporty, do a great job. You should feel that every detail, every component has been improved, and their functions have been revised. The savings are only felt when looking at the ultra minimalist caliberthat only serves the most basic information. There is no rev counter, I also searched in vain for a gear indicator in a very good gearbox. They left these things to other models, here they want the driver to focus on his own feelings, which is really very nice.
The two of you can ride it, but not very far, maybe on a short trip. For something like this, the seat is too minimalist. I have a feeling that the BMW R NineT Pure is a machine for selfish solitary pleasure, for those primeval soul mottos that don't pay too much attention to the opinions of others and rely on the driver-road-engine triangle for total enjoyment. V 17-liter "classic" extended fuel tank, which is nice to see in a clean image, there is enough fuel to drive 250 kilometers in one piece. An impressive detail are the classic wire-spoke rims, which are part of the accessories and fit even better than the original alloy wheels. While it's a classic, it can be ridden well at sharper paces, but the ride is most enjoyable when you're making a series of corners.
It would be a sin to leave this without a hint of your creativity.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the NineT Pure being completely serial, but it’s a shame if you don’t start redoing it and leaving your unique imprint on it. First, the brake and clutch lever, then the valve cover, oil plug, screw here, screw there, exhaust for even cleaner sound and appearance, and gradually it will become a real work of art. Although BMW intended it to be an entry-level model, it is actually a very good bike at a relatively good price.
