Test: Derby GPR 125 4T 4V

  • VIDEO: Derby GPR 125 4T 4V в Raceland

After two special supermoto races (Aprilia SXV 550 Van Den Bosch and Husqvarna SM 450 RR), this is the first production bike we've tested on Raceland and the only one with officially measured lap times. The result unofficially places it at 49th on the sports car list, ahead of the Hyundai Coupe and the 100-horsepower Twingo. Record holder Medo, former owner of an Aprilia RS 250, said at the end of the sporting day: "With the best tires and some practice, he would go at least two seconds faster." Hey, that's good for 15 horses. result!

I may have written before (but I said for sure) that I liked a Derby like this in everyday use, which is more than ten times more powerful and four times more expensive than a supercar. Res. On a 1.000 cubic foot Honda you open the throttle and it goes to 200, and on the Derby, due to lack of power, you pay much more attention to braking as late as possible, getting into a corner as best as possible, correct body position, correct engine rpm and right wrist, turn as quickly as possible all the way. If you mess up a gear or line, the whole circle will collapse. Therefore, training on such a motorcycle is mandatory in a small racing school.

The GPR offers the teenager a lot: good design, no doubt competitive Aprilia, Honda and Yamaha, more than reliable brakes, good enough suspension for these capabilities, a rich digital dashboard with tachometer, stopwatch and top speed data (over 134 km / h). h could not be obtained, and even then on the descent) and a four-stroke grinder with liquid cooling.

The law is the law and a georadar with 15 “horses” is enough for him, which means that matter confidently accelerates to hundreds, and then further acceleration depends on the wind, the weight of the driver and the slope of the road. The engine only wakes up well at 7.000 rpm, so the rpm warning light will always be on. However, we were very impressed with the consumption: although the engine was more or less constantly spinning in the red box, the consumption never exceeded 3,2 liters. Considering that a two-stroke engine needs to be topped up with oil, from the point of view of a constantly poor student, a four-stroke engine is the best choice.

During the test, there were no problems - except for the case when the plastic cover for documents under the seat was drawn into the opening of the air filter chamber and, silently standing on the sidewalk, I was stunned that he "screwed" from a strong chase ....

The takeaway is more for parents than for young people: if he is already weighing, allow him to continually improve his ability to manage balance on two wheels. This derby will be a great place to start.

Regardless of whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, it is worth trying something occasionally that is good for the basic feel of lowering the bike down. Krško has an ideal track on which you can train all day for good money. And if you think about it, the importer could organize the Derby Cup as part of the former Tomos Supermoto championship. Yes, newbies will be happy to have new beginnings. Riding on the road is simply tireless, the position on the bike is comfortable even for larger riders, and the consumption is more than economical.
