The toxic Honda CBR 1000 RR is already in our hands

The latest version of the Honda Fireblade is poison. A poison that fills your body and makes you addicted to adrenaline. Despite the low temperatures, we had fun in the Grobnik. A pro like Marco German, who will drive such a Honda in the Superstock Championship in 2008, has already recorded a time of 1.35. Folks, it was only 9-10 degrees outside! !! !!

Admittedly, we boarded the new Fireblade with a bit of prejudice, but above all, great care. It wasn't that you couldn't trust the Conti tires, which wore a charming red beauty, just a light bora and a temperature of around 10°C - not exactly what we are used to when we go to visit our neighbors. However, lots of horses and icy asphalt have never been a winning combination for breaking speed records.

Well, but that was enough for the first sensation. With a little more restraint than usual, we chased it around the race track and once again found it to be a purebred racing car that no longer has much to do with on-road use. The engine goes into third gear and at around 3.000-4.000 rpm about 100 km / h! This is for a very quiet ride with almost wide open throttle! !! !! However, every smart motorcyclist knows perfectly well that with today's congestion on a country road, the speed exceeds 160 km / h (but let's leave the statutory restrictions and the like).

The Fireblade immediately informed us that it is smaller than its predecessor, it sits most uncompromisingly so far, and if we were blindfolded we would have to work hard to differentiate between the CBR 600 and the CBR 1000. Yes, the toy is small, compact and very lightweight. ...

The bike is great on the track. Accurate and easy to drive, with excellent brakes. We didn't play with the suspension, it is too soft behind the track, but right on the road.

About power, oh. . But they don't end there! Apart from ergonomics and greater compactness (downsizing, to be precise), this is the biggest step forward. If someone complained last year that Fireblade was too polished for them, give it a try now. They have maintained a good upward curve, but in the top third of the revs, this newcomer is a real wild beast.

178 h.p. and 171 kg must be known somewhere.

Expect a test in the next car magazine and of course a funny video at www.motomagazin.si!
