Tomos Twister 125

It's no secret that Tomos has strategically and developmentally cooperated with Taiwanese SYM for several years, and it's no secret that they know how to make a nice and cute scooter in SYM. It is this partnership and the fact that Tomos enjoys a reputation for quality in demanding European markets and beyond the pond that in early May presented in our stores a new line of Tomos scooters, Twister and Nitro models with 50 and 125 cc engines. Cm. .

When I took part in testing the Twister with a 125cc four-stroke engine. See, a strange feeling came over me, I was full of anticipation and fear. Tomos or cheap Asian products? The memories of the Tomos series of licensed scooters from the early XNUMXs are still alive today, which were doomed to failure simply due to austerity measures, even though they were not bad at all. How I wish history did not repeat itself. And this did not happen!

Twister promises a lot in principle. The classic mid-size scooter design and large 16-inch wheels promise agility and ease of use, an attractive and thoughtful design, rich standard equipment, a choice of reliable components and last but not least, the name brings it closer to the discerning European buyer.

I confess, when I first met Twister, I first thought about partying. You know, Tomos, memories, teenage years, first beer, with a girl in a movie and all that. But after a few miles, this scooter made me realize that it was more than just a toy for toddlers. Nice and useful scooter. High-quality varnished plastics are in close contact with each other and do not tremble even in the soft urban "off-road". All switches are pleasant to the touch and feel solid, and the ergonomics are good too. Thanks to the low floor, there is almost always enough knee room, the brake levers are in close proximity to the steering wheel, since the steering wheels are just right, and the slight difference in the level of the front and rear seats forces the driver (as well as the passenger)) to position correctly.

The list of standard equipment includes everything a city scooter needs, but, unfortunately, it is difficult to get to the side rack, the box in front of the driver can only be opened with a key, and the bag holder under the steering wheel, unfortunately, is not a carabiner and therefore can only be used conditionally. If we add that the rear suspension is too soft for two people, and the fuel gauge is a liar (you had to walk to the pump), then this is all we can blame it for.

In any case, the Twister is a good urban scooter that costs exactly the same as it should, and will serve its owners without problems in both versions. This is unjustifiably better than otherwise only slightly cheaper products of dubious origin, and at the same time, on the whole, it is close to the best and, of course, significantly more expensive representatives of this class. Without a doubt, the new generation of Tomos scooters deserves another chance.
