Honda PCX 150: Somewhere in the middle just right

At AS, they reacted and synchronized the test date of the PCX with the engine on with the calendar marking the Scooter Weekend in Italy. It is appropriate to go to such an event on a scooter.

First surprise: The conveyor devours the PCX without removing the mirrors, and besides, it is so light that with some (hardy) skills I can load and explain it without assistance.

Surprise number two: On a beautiful summer Saturday, when I was tired of photographing the spiral Zip, Aerox and Runners at the largest scooter rally in this part of Europe, I used the PCX to explore the Varano de Melegari neighborhood, and instead of the planned ten, maybe 20 kilometers, I drove a hundred.

A scooter on 14-inch wheels with a double swingarm travels phenomenally in a straight line. It changes direction like a moped, in long turns it "lies" like a real motorcycle with a volume of 125 or 250 cubic meters. At the same time, with an increased volume (last year we drove 125cc), he gained two "horses" and the same number of Newton meters, thereby confidently overcoming winding roads. It has a (switchable) start-stop system that automatically shuts off the engine after three seconds of idle and restarts elegantly when an accelerator is added.

Honda PCX 150: Somewhere in the middle just right

The factory claims that the scooter consumes 2,24 liters per hundred kilometers, and the calculator showed 2,7 liters after a live leap in Italian roads, which is also not bad.

The fact that the rest of the equipment is very simple (no on-board computer, rear drum brake) does not bother. That there is a center lip instead of room for a drawer ... Hya: Either good ride quality (eg PCX) or usability (eg Yamaha Xenter, which we tested this year and faded due to a less stable frame). Our rating for the PCX 150: very much in favor.
