Yamaha YZ125, YZ250F, YZ450F – 2017 г.

On a beautiful, sunny and very hot day, we had the opportunity to test the 2017 Yamaha models in Dorne. The track was in excellent condition, perfectly flat, without a single slide or channel. The rain that night also made sure he was just soaking wet. I would describe it as a very fast and attractive route. The base is something between sand and earth. The track is decorated with huge ski jumps, in Dorne you can fly over 30 meters. The corners are open, which allows the driver to maintain high speed on them.

In the period from 2008 to 2014, Yamaha had a big test, a time of a small crisis, but after 2014 the company skillfully pulled itself together and began to conquer the heights of motocross. Engineers began to devote more effort and attention to motorcycles, and the results were noticeable very quickly. For the past two years, Yamaha has bragged about the AMA title as well as the MXGP title.

Since last year, only the 250cc four-stroke engine The See has changed substantially, and not much has changed from its big brother, the 450cc four-stroke. In the 125cc two-stroke, only the graphics are new, and in the case of the YZ250F, there are many new features. The engine has a new cylinder, the intake valve has been changed, it is larger and has a different spring. The bike also has a new ECU computer that allows the engine to develop more power at higher RPMs. The transmission has also been improved as Yamaha has created a new automatic transmission that allows the rider to shift faster and easier. Engine stability was improved by moving the mainframe slightly above the pedals. The lugs that attach the engine to the frame are no longer aluminum, but steel. For better control of the bike, the pedals have been placed five millimeters lower and the dampers have been further improved. As with the 450cc engine, this one also has brake discs in a different material. In addition to all the technical innovations, the motorcycle received new graphics, fenders slightly changed compared to last year, and the motorcycle is decorated with black rims and gold accessories.

We had the opportunity to test models YZ125, YZ250F, YZ450F and all their duplicates GYTR. Since the engines of 125 and 450 cc. Cm has not changed since last year, I paid the most attention to the 250cc motorcycle. See First, I noticed the tremendous power delivered by the engine. Compared to others, you are really abnormal, so you have to be in good physical shape to tame this blue beast. The engine has tremendous torque from the low range to the high speed range. Interestingly, on long planes, when you keep the throttle fully open for a long time, the engine will still pull and pick up speed. The bike is also much more controllable than last year, which I personally believe is caused by the pedals that are set lower and give the rider more control over the engine. The gearbox works perfectly, I immediately noticed that even at higher revs you can switch without problems, which is great. I liked the brakes without adjustments. They provide sophisticated braking. The shock absorbers were tuned to a kind of middle ground and worked great on jumps. I used to jump too far and the shock absorbers did a great job. I was very pleased that the track was perfectly flat, so I was able to enjoy it even more, but because of this, I could not test the shock absorbers well and form an opinion about them.

The most positive thing, however, was that I liked the GYTR bikes. So much power and leadership…. Oh, about that in the next article!
